Well I played for about two hours last night. I did the first few missions which weren't very hard but mainly I just drove around and got in trouble. My first impression is that the graphics are pretty sweet, obviously a huge improvement over the previous PS2 games. The city seems very realistic and is huge. The details are really cool, at one point I drove over a fire hydrant and water started shooting out everywhere. You actually get to watch TV in your apartment with multiple channels. The water in the river looks realistic and it's nice to know that you can drive a car into the river and still get out and swim to safety. I haven't gotten any weapons yet so it has been all hand to hand combat so far, which at least at first seems a little harder than the previous games. I didn't realize at first you can use L2 to aim when trying to punch someone.

I haven't tried multiplayer yet so no comments on that.

So far so good, I think I will play some more this morning.

Ya, I think this is much more realistic than the other GTA's.  Swimming is sweet.  I like the fact that if you jack a car, the owner will try to hang on to the door handles.   I drove one guy about 20 blocks as he just hung and flung for dear life.   I think the characters aren't that great graphic wise but the cars and environment are impressive. Splitting play time with Andrea, we're not too far along yet but to this point we've both enjoyed the game.

I did try the multiplayer late last night but the Deathmatch I joined just stayed on the loading screen until I eventually got tired of waiting and quit.  I did complete the online tutorial.  It was nothing special but gives you a quick rundown of what to expect online.

Well Ive never played it at all before so i had no idea what to expect .... so far it seems about as exciting as watching grass grow .... very slow paced if your just doing the story ..... maybe I will get into it more as I go along.

Isn't that what you do while your camping in the bush waiting for someone to walk by and shoot?

Yeah, Iplayed for about 5 hours yesterday and I am stunned.
This game is AWESOME!!!
The graphics are great and the voice acting is top notch.
My only beef so far is that I cannot connect to the multiplayer.

Where the heck are the guns? I'm still fighting with my fists.
Money doesnt seem to be easy to come by either.
Didnt people used to drop money when you killed them, though so far I've doing the nicey nice thing, trying not to kill people, wreck the cars, and even stopping at red lights and such(most of the time so far anyway).

Didnt get a connection either trying to connect to multiplayer.
Havent frozen so far...
Though it appeared I lost all color at the end of the night yesterday, seemed like everything was just grayish. (maybe it was the weather)

I dont know how far you are but now when I kill people they drop money  if they have any and as for guns I had about 3 guns that I have picked up off of people in missions that I have killed and now the gun shop is open but only two guns that I can buy. I have lost my 3 guns buy getting pick up by the cops but I just go back and buy gun

I like this game I have had np with anything so far still 10/10

When I went to take my cousin bowling I didn't have enough $$ to play.
So I walked outside and beat up 2 dudes and made enough for my "date"
Then I went home and some scumbag was standing in my doorway,
so I pushed him into the stairwell and stuck him in the neck about 6 times with my pig sticker.
He was broke though, but it was still fun.

Not sure if I'll get much into the multiplayer but it was pretty fun the game I played with Haze tonight.  I think it's pretty cool how you get a text message when you get an invite if you're playing the story mode.  Kind of what I imagine in-game xmb use would be like.  You just pop right into the game.
