Do game invites get sent thru the XMB?  I've noticed I've gotten a few invites but it never pops up on my screen. I don't realize I've gotten them til a couple hours after the fact.  Same for Andrea.

I'm guessing it might have to do with the fact we have "notifications" turned off in the XMB settings.  If that's the case I'll turn them back on...don't want peeps to think we're ignoring the invites.

Thanks.

Yep, you need the setting turned on to see them during game play.

Also, it's become more and more a good idea to make sure everyone you want to play with is in your PS3 friends list.

You can send invites in between matches, and players can join while the match is in progress.

An invite may be good for an hour or more depending on how long the host stays in the match.

Thanks, turned back on.

Turned it off a while back when Cheech kept signing on/off every 2 seconds and I couldn't see my radar on resistance because of it.   Kinda like the other night when a few of us were playing and Him was doing the same thing.

I turned that blasted pop up message off months ago when it screwed up a golf shot. Umm...where is it so I can turn it back on and get more annoyed?

If anyone didn't know, invites can be received even if you're playing offline!

Yup, no real need to turn the notifications back on. I have mine off as well. You just have to look for the flashing community thing on the screen. When you see it, hit triangle to bring up your buddy list, then hit triangle again to view invitations. Sometimes, someone will send invites but for one reason or another(haven't figured out what makes this happen yet) you can't hit triangle again to view thier game invite. If this happens you have to delete the invites from your XMB offline, out of game.

I'm pretty sure I was playing offline at the time.

Either way, just didn't want the invites to go unappreciated.   The letters/words in the game are teeny tiny and hard to read...it's going to take me a while to get the hang of everything.

Reading over at the rb6 forums, it's a problem for quite a few Karl.  Hopefully they patch it up, the game is great but it has a few nasty bugs.

Well...I see E$, Jumpputt, and Dendo "green" on the community board. I sent the message to each of you..."play?". I lost my keyboard, so I'm typing using the controller.  Anyway, I also got kicked off the PS3 Network about 5 seconds into my very first match.

------

Online Update: 10:15 E.S.T.   Jumpputt sent me a game invite but I got the message: "This room is full". I've been booted several times so far in random matches.   I want my mommy.

Karl just went from green to red in a couple of seconds.  GL Karl.

JP sent you an invite to our game Mole.  Hit triangle (community button), scroll down to jump's name, hit triangle again and join the game.    If we are in the middle of one you'll have to spectate til it's over.

I've hit triangle-triangle several times, with an invitation from JP to join game. I get one of two things: 1. "This room is full". 2. This room is no longer available...or something like that. I never get the chance to join and spectate.

I was able to play two very short matches before getting the Playstation Network boot. Both matches had a stange and severe kind of lag problem. I would move a few yards forward and then I would find myself reset to the same location. Sometimes I was able to advance a little on the map, but both times the game was completely unplayable for me. I must have looked like some flickering ghost to other players.

I'm not worked up about it and I don't want to discourage anyone. It could just be my personal internet settings and this game only. I do have an outstanding isp service and played several games online with no issues I can remember, as do my children. TW06 was the only game with an online issue, and that lag was extremely minor compared to what I just experienced tonight.

------

Update: 11PM E.S.T. >>>>> JP went from green to red. Dendo and E$ are still green.  I sent a request for a game invite to E$, but got no response after 15 minutes. Oh well.

15 minute matches with that crazed killer DendoX. Sounds like scary stuff.    E$ is now on blood red.  Irish just went green with DendoX.

Perhaps we can keep the matches to 5 minutes for a while to give others a chance to shoot a little before getting booted from the server.
