This is for the admins for the site.

A bunch of people on the gamefaqs website are looking for some sort of league and I wanted to start one up.  Rather than trying to make another website, I was wondering what the possiblity of getting a ladder and a topic for Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 was?

I am not sure if any of the admins would want to do this, but I would be very grateful if someone did.  Also, I wouldn't mind looking over the ladder if for some reason no admin has the game or they do not have the interest of handling it.

Thanks,
Mike

That can happen.  This is a PSP game though, right?

Yes it is a PSP game.  I think we would be able to get more new members by this too since alot of people on gamefaqs website are looking.

I'll create a forum in the PSP area and then we can get to the specifics.

Feel free to create a topic in the new forum detailing your ideas for the league so that we can get the front end started and people can start signing up and getting a feel for the site.

Once the league rules and format have been established - you and I will discuss the back-end stuff such as how to utilize the league app, etc.

nice.  I will give them a link to this site.

Now even though it isn't setup yet, they can sign up for the ladder and just join it later right?

Correct.  It will take a minimum of 1 week to establish the format, rules and guidelines.  In the meantime you can play ladder matches though.  I'll have the ladder set up sometime today.

There shouldnt be a big issue if you want to take on the task - it is your idea.

We have rules regarding who can run leagues and tournaments but those are only in place to stop a lot of random, unofficial things from happening.  If you present a well organized game plan and are an established member (you are by now I think) then we welcome all the help we can get

yeah I definetly have an idea of what I wanted to do and I can give that to you by tomorrow.

I wanted to do the same idea as you, start off with a weekly or bi-weekly tournament.  Then from there, after more people sign up (and hopefully we will keep adding as the tournaments go on), then we can start a playoff format.

I realize it is my idea, but this is your guys site.  I enjoy using it and I have had alot of fun so far.  If you are all okay I wouldn't mind running some tournaments and I will just follow the guidelines you have already put in place for the other tournaments.

Thank you Drgn, I really appreciate your help.  I am sure I will need it because I only have an idea of what I want to do, but I have no idea how to implement it.

I equate membership to practicing a skill:  "Practice doesnt make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect."

Essentially meaning that quality is better than quantity.  It's their (new members) responsibility to read the forum rules when signing up, but it doesnt hurt to give them some notice in advance regarding our fairly strict rules surrounding conduct and proper sportsmanship.   Some guys might show up, realize its not for them and drop - and that can make re-organizing your league a real pain

well thats the point I want to make clear.  Its only meant as a fun league.  Thats the reason I enjoyed it the most for out of bounds.  I made sure to post that on the gamefaqs website that we play as a fun atmosphere.

Do you think I should add it to the walkthrough or leave it out?

Or should I make it clear a bunch of times that is just meant as a fun atmosphere and if you are looking to be in a serious league this shouldn't be for you?

You can do whatever you want in that regard... just wanted to save you from any potential headaches.  Plus those kinds of disclaimers can often be beneficial in that it's more appealing to someone when they know in advanced that they wont get hassled.
