Here is a link to the ladder.  Please post in here with any questions you may have.

http://www.thegamesvillage.com/ladder_old/ladder.php?ladderid=85

You can also access the ladder by clicking the link at the top of these forums.

Before you can join any ladders you need to create a user account

Our Ladder System facilitates you being able to play multiple game titles with different stats for each game. This means that the system works slightly differently to other ladders in that you need to take two steps to join the ladder. The first step is to create a User Account and the next is to create a 1 person team for each game you want to play in. For example if I am playing in Tiger Woods and NHL 2005 I will create myself ONE User Account called Scotia650 and then I will create a 1 person team for Tiger Woods ladder and a 1 person team for NHL 2005. Both teams will also be called Scotia650. This allows you to be a member of multiple ladders with only ONE user account.

Below are some instructions on how to create your User Account

Creating A Ladder User Account:

Only Do This Step Once!

CLICK HERE to go to the ladder

Under "Player Manager" on the left click "New Play Signup"

Fill in the fields with valid information and hit "Create My Account"

Ensure you use the same name as your forum username!

Validate Your User Account:

You should be sent a validation email shortly after sign up

Click the link in the mail which will take you to the screen and will prepopulate the field with the validation number.

If you dont click the link you will have go to the ladder and under "Player Manager" click "Validate Account" and enter the validation code in the email

Your Player Account is now created and active

Once you have created your User Account you need to join the ladders you want to play in. To join a ladder you need to create a team for each ladder. For 1v1 games you create a 1 person team. For other games like NHL you will be informed how many people per team you need for that ladder for example the 2v2 ladder will require one person to create the 2 person team and then join another user to that team.

Users can not create Clans - Clans will be created by TGV staff!

Creating a 1 Person Team:

To join a team you should login with your new User Account details. You will now see more options under the Player Manager heading.

Click on "Join A Ladder" - I will use Tiger Woods as an example.

Select the ladder you want to join from the pull down.

Enter the same name as your user account for example Blue52

Leave the tag field empty!

Fill in the other necessary fields

Click "Join Ladder"

You have now created a 1 person team that is a member of that ladder!

If you wish to join a multi player team ladder, for example the NHL 2v2 then you should read the Creating Multi Person Teams FAQ in this forum!

Remember you report losses by Report ID not name!

Below are the default rules for playing in random ladder matches.

Note: All TGV ladder matches must be set to a long clock.  If the clock is not long, the match is not a ladder match unless otherwise agreed upon before the event.

Best Case Scenario:
It is HIGHLY recommended that you have a short discussion before playing your match with regards to how you will be scoring it.  You can choose to either allow style point to be the tie breaker, or ignore style points all together and risk having a stroke tie.

Worst Case Scenario:
If no conversation occurred, or an agreement cannot be reached, POINTS DO NOT BREAK TIES.  If you encounter this situation and the match resulted in a tie for total strokes, the match is a wash and does not get reported to the ladder.

Nutshell:
We here at TGV have never had issues with arguing about ladder wins for the simple fact that our membership is the friendliest group on the net.  If we practice common sense, common courtesy and good communication as we always have, there should be no problems.  If you do have a problem with one of your matches or opponents, contact a site moderator/administrator and we will help you deal with the situation in the fairest way possible.

Thank you all for your continued dedication and support!

Also, we will use the group name tgv.

You can find a group by going to the advanced search online and scroll all the way to the bottom.

Then type in group tgv, and you will see anyone there.

Make sure when you are searching for the server make sure you are on the WORLD SERVER

MAKE SURE YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR A GF GAME.  AND A TOURNAMENT GAME.

I made a forum account and it worked fine.  Now when I try to make a ladder user account I get this message:

"Your IP Address is already in use on an Unvalidated Account"

I have't tried to make a ladder user account until now and that is what I got so I'm not sure why it says that.  Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hmmmm,... I do not see any pending validations in the database.

Can you confirm that this area in the link below is where you were and that you did in fact fill it out in its entirety?

Ah yes - you somehow gained access to our new (yet incomplete) ladder system.  That is unfortunately still in the design phase though it looks idential to the "old" one.

Glad it worked for you - I'm not sure where you got the link to that new ladder, but the best way to get to the working one is to use the :: Ladder :: link at the top of these forums.

I got there by following your directions!  I clicked on the "click here" link you have in creating a ladder user name in your first post.  Then I simply clicked new player signup.  Maybe the click here link you gave us is for the newer design.  If thats the case you should modify it.  Thanks for the help by the way.

Just so you know, if you click "home" on the very top of the forums page (to go to the mainsite home), then click ladder, it takes you to the new one still.  If you click ladder directly from the top of the forums it takes you to the old (working) one.

Yeah, sorry, the main site is jacked in a big way.  We lost our technical administrator a while back and havent been able to update them.  We recently aquired a new guy but it's going to take some time to get back into the swing of things.

Thanx for the breakdown though - knowing that info puts us another step closer to getting it all fixed up

Mike/Admin.....ANYONE....I have my password and username, but I have tried to join the ladder 10 times with no success.  It either says that my validation code is needed (which I don't have anymore) and when I go through the old way it tells me that my password and username is wrong.  I'm so bummed because I want to play in the tournaments tomorrow afternoon!!  I hope someone can help!
Please let me know what I can do to enable access for tomorrow.  If need be, I'm okay with you assigning me a temporary password for the sake fo playing tomorrow.

I don't see any unvalidated accounts in the admin section. I also don't see any accounts with weaver in them. What name did you use to sign up with?

You can edit that yourself. Along the left side of the main page on the ladder, under Player Manager....click on Account Management. Then click on Edit Player Information. Erase the name in the tag box, then save the changes. If you can't figure it out just post here and we'll take care of it for ya.

Sorry...you need to click on Edit Team Info...not Edit Player Information. Then erase tag and save changes.
