Electronic Arts announced today that Nascar 09 will feature a Paint Booth that will allow players to download a car template from easports.com and import it into editing programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, giving users a multitude of design options. They can then upload those images into the game and show off their car skins when racing against other players online.

The online connectivity of Paint Booth allows players to download a car template from easports.com and import it into editing programs, such as Photoshop, giving users a multitude of design options. They can then upload those images into the game and show off their dream machine on the track.

NASCAR 09 will be available on PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360 and ships on June 10. The game features highly adaptable gameplay that fits players of all levels and gives the gamers access to the emotion of NASCAR more than ever. Four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jeff Gordon serves as your guide as you try to build your reputation and race your way to the top in NASCAR 09. Karl...if GT4 is a 10 regarding driving mechanics...how would you rate the NASCAR series? I have not tried Forza Motorsport 2 yet...but will eventually add it to my "GamerPoint" collection.
GamerPoints is something new for me and kinda addicting.

I've had a blast playing Project Gotham Racing 3 w/ a Mad Catz steering wheel...and just purchased a brand new copy of PGR 4 at a steal of a price at the Target clearance rack...$18.88.
---

I'm now earning GamerPoints by playing COD2 on Veteran....the 4th and hardest level of difficulty. This game is crazy hard.  Never played COD4 on the hardest setting yet. I heard it was pretty insane.

I for one say that GT is a 10 and Forza to me is a close second with a 9.The last Nascar game that came out was 08 and i would rate it at a 5 or a 6 -.I loved all the Nascar games until 06 came out and they all seem to have fallen off since then.maybe this one will be better, you know like we allways say about Tiger games.

This series seems to have gone the way of tiger.  They're focusing on customizing your car/character and not on the gameplay.  I hope it's better this year for you guys though.

Well on the plus side....it no longer pulls to the left as much as last year..... but...... there are few controller options and using the triggers seems required for gas and braking the only other options are buttons...sticks are not an option....... overall it seems like a step backward instead of forward as the sense of speed is non-existent.

Downloaded ...tried.....DELETED ! ! !

I just downloaded this and it feels "stale".  Very assist laden and I even made some drastic adjustments to my transmission/fenders, etc but it still just did the same ole 162mph through the corners and 174 down the straights at Lowe's with no need for one touch of brake - that is just wrong for someone who loves to drive into them deep and swing out late.  I don't know if they did that because the past game whiners complained that it was "too hard" or what but it feels like a demo with all the assists on for all the noobs.  I am not pleased with the 13 friends factor online they are touting but if they would fill in the rest of the field with Ai cars, definitely doable (simialr to the early 2000 games in which it was 4 friends and 37 AI's...but it was laggy then so I do understand.)

Oh yeah, the car sounding like a high powered bicycle with playing cards in the spokes annoys me too.  Its like driving a frickin '69 Camoro around the track as opposed to a stock car, even if if it COT, come on EA Canada ****s!!!!  (No offense to our Canadian friends, that was directed at EA.)  It is a demo though but no one but me and one or two others have played this more than 10 minutes so I think it is a no go in this sector (as well as most)!  Too bad, NASCAR racing when done right (and I know you guys know this from our big league a few years ago) can be awesome!

I played it and I enjoyed it.  The only problem I had (of course it's a demo) is the AI is way too easy.  I'll wait and give my opinion on the game when I've played the full version.  But from the demo I think it's a great game.  If they get the online multiplayer right it could be some serious fun.

I tried the demo again yesterday morning, after reading some tips on the forums, and it helped turning off all the assists and tweaking the tunes a bit more.  I do think the racing action will be more enjoyable for a lot more people as its easier to control.  I'll keep an eye on your reports.

It's all gravy brother.  I'm just glad that I kept my steering wheel setup because NASCAR is just not the same without it.

I miss you and the days we had a bunch of people playing in our PS2 league...

...the demo seems like it could be a good playable mix for those that have always wanted to venture to no assist but were just not comfortable with it.  I'll be the first to admit that I would slide all over the place but that was the challenge to it.

I find myself getting more and more tempted to get this game...with each passing day.

I just read through several pages of the NASCAR 09 string on Xbox.com and everyone seems to be impressed with this game and even EA.  Usually its just a rip fest but everyone seems very happy.  People seem to be running out to get wheels left and right too.

I think I am going to swing by Wally World today and will pick it up if they have it.  Alot of the issues people had with '08 were mentioned numerous times and seem to be fixed ie the AI will not slam into you if you hold your line, so far the online experience is smooth and apparently 14 people can race at the same time.  Numerous people have commented that they think it is the best NASCAR game EA has put out.

Apparently you build your car or character (both maybe) similar to Tiger.  I am very surprised at the lack of scathing reviews.  Could just be that its all the racers playing since there are so many games out too.
