I'm brand new to tactical combat, so I'm sure others can chime in with more advanced tips. Heck...this is only my second shooter game.

Snake Cam Tip: If you are using the default controller setup, you can see the entire room inside by using the sixaxis feature. If you play with R3 inverted, like me , then go to options and set "stick" to "on" for snake cam.

I couldn't figure out why the snake cam was not working. Now I can move the snake cam with R3 and  tag tango before opening the door.

Found the official RB6 boards tonight...you can check them out here. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/8971060175

Here is a link to a very detailed gun-guide (pdf file). http://www.ick.bz/pdfs/Rainbow_6_Vegas_2.pdf
Just found that moments ago, haven't had a chance to check it out but it looks pretty sick.

Another gun guide, much simpler but still a good guide. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8971060175/m/2541014175

And then there are peeps who say the gun stats are misleading, saying that Ubisoft made some errors and the gun stats don't always tell the whole story of what that weapon is capable of.

What armor are you guys wearing?  On every part of the body?  Need to find a good balance of cover and mobility.

Also, the laser scope doesn't seem to have a laser for me.   Anyone use that or does everyone use the rifle or 6x scope?

I read somewhere that it doesn't matter where you wear armour,  it's not area specific.  I also read that an armour rating over 7 doesn't give you any additional protection, it just decreases your mobility.

May not be set in stone facts but, hey, I read it 'somewhere'

So you could wear it on your legs and get the same protection everywhere?

Seems that way anyway....I've got armor everywhere but it doesn't increase me any different than if I'm wearing one piece of the same armor type.

Developer Notes: Armor

Light Armor (1-3 Protection Value) (10% Damage Absorbed)

Medium Armor (4-6 Protection Value) (25% Damage Absorbed)

Heavy Armor (7-10 Protection Value) (40% Damage Absorbed)

With only one or two peeps in my sharp shooter matches and so much ground to cover on a small map...I think I'll have my character run around naked.

Perhaps not the best plan the way the game was designed.

Although armor is equipped over certain body parts, all armor values are cumulative. This global armor value is applied to your character's torso and limbs-there is no armor for your head. So technically, arm or leg armor could help you survive a shot to the chest.

That makes sense. I plan to go light armor for now.

My box is full?    Thanks for the heads up. Where is the box to empty my messages? On the RB6 community page there is a square to press for "view inbox". When I press the square button I get "You have no messages". Also, on the community page it says I have 0 new messages. Hmm...I think it always says that, even though I get the triangle flashing and am able to reply to messages. I can also send messages.

Co-op terrorist hunting has been proving to be the fastest way to gain rank online. Once you've played a stage a few times with others, you can begin to run right through them in just a couple of minutes to the tune of 300xp(normal setting) all the way to 600xp(realistic setting) for EACH hunt!
There's a few that haze and I are able to run through with relative ease with just the two of us. At about 2.5-3 minutes a game, the 300xp adds up fast!

I'll be online tonight playing, look me up and I'll host a hunt!
