Saturday Night's Main Event - 11/8/08 - Midnight EST/9:00 PM Pacific

This week we will be playing a basic 4 round Simultaneous Stroke Tourney. In the future we will be looking at powercaps,  Tour Pro Mode, Match play-single elimination, Ironman, and who knows what else. We are open for suggestions so feel free to give your ideas.

There is no need to sign up for the tournament, but, you MUST be registered on the TW 09 PS3 ladder.  Please show up a few minutes before the tournament so I can configure pairings for Round 1.

Format:
4 Rounds of 9 hole Simultaneous Stroke Play.
Unranked games with 60 second shot clock
Grip and Rip
Everyone plays all 4 rounds.
Courses and Settings will be announced before each rounds pairings..we will be playing from the Black Tees.

We will meet in a TGV created lobby.  Please report your scores to me after each round once I have returned to the lobby.  If you are the first one back after a round, feel free to create the TGV room so others can join.

Rules:
You must be registered on the TW 09 PS3 ladder to play.
Report all losses to the TW 09 PS3 ladder in a timely manner.
Grip-n-Rip event - Turbo is OK.
No CAG restrictions for this event (subject to change in future tournaments).

Lowest 4 round total wins.  There are no tiebreakers.
Start BS in the lobby and I will remove you from the tournament.
Most importantly, let's have fun.

If you need to sign up for the ladder, click HERE

If you are having problems signing up for the ladder, click HERE.

If you have tried both and can't figure it out, please post here or send me a private message on the forums.  Someone will be along to help you ASAP!

I had a sighting of 3/4 last night, he jumped in the FNF TGV room for 5 seconds and then disappeared into the night.

Lets see if he comes again tonight and joins us for 4 9 hole rounds of fun!!!

It would be nice to see a good turnout tonight. Soooooo calling all TGVers who still play Tiger.

Then you must need a PSP, Mikey.

Ya, threeqtrshot & I played sum last night. He is trying out his shot but I think we will see him again soon, Andy, since he got so much time before his new job. He is as much fun as I remember; if not more so. I have missed him.

its almost getting close to the point of me just wanting to trade this game in....it seems like either everyone else has or they have other games to play, and yes it was fun to play w/ you 2 tonight...but it will get boring in the future just playing the same faces day in and day out...not to mention the daily is already gettin old to me...kinda sad when i play pebble beach (one of my better courses im at), put up a lousy 44 and i dont even care and just turn the game off...well poop

I feel your pain CCC.  I turned in Zelda Twilight Princess for Wii, and Metal Gear Solid 4 (two games I REALLY wanted to keep(tho I can re buy them later))tonight to buy fallout 3, because the crowd on Tiger is getting thinner and thinner.  I think they did a mediocre job with Resistance 2, so I probably am not going to buy that (very disappointing), but I might buy the new call of Duty game.  If I had an XBOX, I'd be all over Gears2 right now.  I think shooters that don't use cover systems leave a LOT to be desired.  It's a shame.  It seems like just when we were getting some really good tourney turnouts and having a lot of fun, a lot of people jumped ship.  To each their own, I understand there are a lot of games out that people have been waiting many months for, but it's ALWAYS nice to toss in Tiger and play a few rounds with good friends.  To be honest, If BUZZN and Andy were not still playing, I would have traded Tiger in tonight instead of Zelda with NO HESITATION.  Maybe we will never see Tiger games with staying power like 2005, but it sure is a darn shame.  It really makes me wish that I had had a PS2 and Tiger '05 and been part of the Games Village back in those days.  To everyone who reads this, I really miss the 12 and 13 person tournies that we had going for a while, and it was really a pleasure to play with you all.  You couldn't find a nicer group of people anywhere!

yah, i see myself waiting for xmas to be getting any other games, and i was having a good time with tiger...tournies were about up in the teens about a month ago...then it got down to 8-9...then it got down to 6...now its down to about 3-4 max it seems like...just makes it not as fun because i dont like going into the east and playing random people i dont know...not as fun imo

maybe i should just sell my ps3 and not even play games anymore

I'll be back once I get my PS3 fixed. There are alot of great games out right now and I'll be playing a few of them but I always come back to Tiger. It has the best replay value for me.

Well I have to say that I'm disapointed in this post BB.I have had a tourney every monday for almost 3 months now and the last 2 or 3 you havent showed up for and I didnt ask where are the bums at.I just carried on with the tourney and played it out. There are 2 games that have came out in the last 5 days that are the 2 BIGGEST selling games on each console and just about 90% of the folks here have been waiting for over a year for their release.I have had my GOW2 copy reserved since it was schedualed for release.I know that the PS3 faithfuls have been waiting for R2 as long as I have been waiting for GOW2.Its all about good online play with these shooters.I guess EA shot itself in the back with the last 3 or 4 TW games and with the next gen consoles there are so many good games out there to play online it just makes since to play them all. This is my 2cnd favorite TW game other then TW04 and I will continue to play it,but I will be playing GOW alot in the next 2 years just like I have played GOW1 the last 2 years. The only reason I bought the PS3 was to play Tiger and I will continue, just not as much.I'm sure everyone will keep playing it at least a few times a week if not more, but these 2 games will be first on everyones list for a while. So dont be discuraged or unhappy, all will be OK and TW09 will live on.I'll be hosting my MOnday night tourney as allways until nobody shows and then you can start to worrie.

Yeah, I can understand that.  It IS a bummer that 4 or 5 different people show up for each tourney instead of all showing up for one, but that is the nature of things.  Not everyone is free at the same times.  I just got fallout3, and I can see myself blowing A LOT of time on that game.  If I had a 360, I'd have even more games bogging me down, so I can understand.  I was just shocked to see only 3 on a Saturday...

I do apologize for not being there with y'all last night but Verizon did scheduled maintenance & neglected to tell it's customers so I froze up in Rfom2 about 11:30pm and didn't get service back until this morning. I gave them a lil piece of my mind. They should be able to tell us so we could plan accordingly. I couldn't even sign off TGV until this morning. I love tigger tournies and will continue to make every 1 I can no matter how many games come out. TGV tourneys are the greatest. I am sorry I missed it Andy, and couldn't even let y'all know I wasn't coming. Thanks for understanding.
