I think this year's driver challenges are a fun all around experience.  I thought it funny at first that they had "wreck avoidance" challaenges in there since you just slwo down when yellow's come out but I've come to understand that its about putting you int eh Nascar experience as opposed to just teaching you lines, brake points, pit speeds, etc.

So I spent most of my day yesterday trying to clean up my road course driver tests.  (Thus the post in the other string about David Reagen being a lil beatch.)  I had forgotten how this game is one of the few games that for some reason, truly has me cussing...I love it.

Jeff Burton was fairly hardcore at Bristol too I thought.

I think the driver challenges are the best part of this game.  I'm stuck right now after completing 73 out of the 77 challenges.

Awesome fun.

Yeah, I am stuck on the lower right hand road course where you have to follow the line and come in first at Inifneon.  The clock isn't the issue but by the time I get through traffic, Stewart is gone.  If I can unlock that one, my last driver challenge will open.  2 left.

I do have to say though that the racing action has really been getting much more intense.  All my settings are dialed in and I sure as heck am not blowing the doors off of anyone anymore.  I am honestly getting crazy happy when I can meet my contract and team sponsorhips.  For instance, I thought I had a fast car at New Hampshire but qualifed 42nd.  I did some tweaks and fortunately a yellow came out in lap 2 so I pitted after feeling the car and worked my way up to 11th.  Great stuff.  I am having a hoot!  Glad you are too bro.

I am also stuck on this challenge.  I am having the same problem - by the time I get through everyone there's no way to catch Tony.

I'm also stuck on the challenge where you have to stay in the draft at Atlanta for four laps with only a 10 second timer (is that the Regan challenge you were stuck on?)...pisses me off.

I am stuck on that Atlanta one too... it is really chapping me. I have 69 of the 77 completed. I have almost given up on that Infineon one too.

I'm just hoping that some time we'll turn on the game, try it and it will be easy.

We should all have a helluva Infineon race when we get together though...

The bright side to this is that I have been trying to get enough performance points through sponsorhips to complete my rides to 100.

I've got to fulfill one more contract then my road course car should finally get me there.  I didn't make the Chase in my season 1 (14th, 103 points off the cut) but its been cool trying to make sure I meet the requirements of sponsorship so I can get my 225 points and spend them.  (MY repuation is in constant flux up and down as they take it away with as much beating as I do sometimes and give it with team contracts.)

According to some, building all your tracks up to 100 actually slows your times and your car down.

Yeah, Daytona and Talladega.  The 2 most boring tracks in the game.  I don't care if people can house me on those tracks online.  I will go around and they can enjoy their "glitch" the few times a let myself play people there.  I almost fell asleep driving Daytona to start my season 2 tonight.  I could barely keep my eyes open.

On the other hand, this fighting for every position business and making sure you get as many points as you can as opposed to wrecking is good stuff.

62 of 77 complete

I can't stand when I see a blue dot and it takes me to Infineon!!!!  I would be fine racing at it w/TGVers but this stay on the line crap and the others is KILLING me.

I agree with ya Steam, I was at Daytona tonight after I started my Nationwide Series and i was falling asleep on turn 2 of the 2nd lap.

Speedway, Road Course, and Short Track cars are all at 100, building up Super Speedway now.  Hopefully we can all get together and race soon.

Yep, its the staying on the line crap and to a lesser extent the stay in the draft on road courses too.  You are making great headway though.  Good Job!

(I am good to go with my Spring Cup cars so just give me a holler whenever fellas.)

Awesome job jess.

Yeah, I noticed he has a crazy sick time for Infineon.  He caught Tony.  Guess I know what I am doing tonight...ah Infineon...

Very nice bro.  I'd be curious to know how you managed to get Tony the first time.

Which challenge is that? Is that the pass 8? Or is it the final challenge in the middle?
