How many players can you host in a party?

I can host a 4 player party.

I have 15 megs, but I have the circle. never had any lag issues though. I`ve hosted 16 on graw 2 with no lag.

I can always do 20... I had it at 24 one time.

I have consistently been able to host up to 24 peeps.

Is this an option you can test out when online or just a trial and error process you'll figure out thru trying to host?
