Reading the ubi.com/R6V/PS3 forum is very depressing right now. I read far too much last night and don't rec. doing it often. Basically, the guys want to burn UBI to the ground. The tone is far worse than Tigger 06 and lag. A word of encouragement: UBI has made a bug fix patch for the 360 version. It took 3-4 months. A PS3 bug fix patch is in the works. No timeline yet on the patch.

Anyway, I am reporting this "losing rank" glitch because it sounds so horrible and I don't want it to happen to anyone here. By "losing rank" I mean losing all rank and unlockable progress! You get reset to private.

Problem:

First: Several people already have lost rank and all unlockables. Some have lost stats.

Second: They did not change their character to cause this problem.

Third: They went back to private with all unlocks gone.

Fourth: They did not back-up their character on an external device.

Solution: Back-up character to an external device.

O.K. I don't want to purchase a second hard drive just yet for my PS3. Could I use a USB jump drive to back-up my character, and how would I do this? Also, the PS3 has other types of memory stick slots, I think.

I've never used them and wonder if they would work as well to back-up PS3 data. Thanks.

Yes just put the Jump drive in a USB slot and then find your RB6 save file in the saved games folder and copy it to the USB drive.

Just as an added option, every so often I copy all of my saves to the USB and then copy that to my PC hard drive to have it in a 3rd spot. I just made a folder on the PC named PS3 and I put my saves in there.

Also I bought a USB converter case for an old IDE Harddrive I had laying around at Circuitcity for like 20.00 .... now I have a 40gig USB backup drive also .... works great.
