I think it turns red when your ball flight path is over O.B.?  Not sure though.

I remember in 05 if you moved the aiming marker, sometimes it would disappear.  There were people convinced that it meant if you left it there you were on the perfect line for a holeout.   That's what this topic reminded me of when I first read it.

It only turns red if there is an obstruction, or a possible problem with the shot.
It doesn't mean there actually is though, I've hit plenty of shots with a red marker.

Here's my question. Anyone know what size each circle is?  I know they vary.
This would be highly beneficial information for lining up that 5mph cross wind.

Of course in accordance with multiple mow patterns...

I thought it was for a drastic chnge in elevation because it does it on the green but it could be for the fringe or the rough.

From a XBOX 360 message board:
quote:

The True Aiming system, which gives your shot placement a degree of uncertainty (the landing area decreases as your player improves) has been bolstered by the new Shot Confidence system. As the name suggests, your player's confidence has an effect on the size of the landing zone marker. This is shown by a red ring outside the standard aiming circle and appears during pressure shots such as hitting over a bunker or over water. The game tracks your performance in these areas, giving your player the resemblance of a memory.
From a PS3 Mini review article:
quote:

Shot Confidence makes this years' edition a little more like real life. It tracks EVERY shot on EVERY hole in your career. Your performance on each swing will affect the aiming circle size in the future. As you perform well, your confidence will improve and the target will shrink. Performing not-so-well will adversely affect your aiming circle and performance in the future. You can view these statistics in the "Confidence" menu while paused.
Not sure if either one is correct yet but I plan on checking out the Confidence menu as soon as I get online.
