Disco'ing from PSN randomly happens to me every now and then. It hasn't been getting me lately though; only hosts ending games right at the start

Have you tried completely rebooting your entire network?  Unplug your router and modem for at least one minute, then plug them back in.  Sometimes that helps.

Do you have Comcast?

Tdawg has a good point.....sometimes your IP gets "stale" for lack of a better explanation..... I usually turn off my modem and router at least once a month .... count to 10 and then turn them back on..... this refreshes the IP address and it usually speeds everything up till next time.

No problems here, then again, I don't play COD4.

Kinda wish I didn't trade it in.

rebooted as Tdawg suggested and it still happened several times in an hour. perhaps i am wrong, but it seems to be happening since the update we received last week to address the GTA4 issues.

i guess i will contact my cable company.

It sounds more like an interruption in service than a hardware issue.  Def call them.
Have your modem tested, and maybe ask for a new one if the problem persists.
Does your TV signal flash occasionally too?
I played for a couple hours last night with no trouble.  COD is a-ok.

I hate technical problems!

Nice!
When I called them a few weeks back about my modem blinking off for like 10-20secs numerous times a day the damn tech told me it must be something with my computers' software

I told them I highly doubt that since I see that it loses the signal coming from them. Perhaps I'll have to go straight to the building and have them replace it. That's what it took for them to give me a DVR that was not refurbished and worked correctly

Nice.  I tried Dawg's suggestion and also switched to port 4 on my router and haven't had a Disco this weekend yet.
