So is it true that there is nothing EA can do to make this right or is it that they just wont make it right?

Both; Executive Producer Steve Arnold (numero uno for TW series) said the lag will continue until the '07 edition. They cant do nothing as it is a result of a client end dilema (I'm assuming this means that the PS2 hardware flat out cant keep up with what they tried to program into the game).

Heavy Computing Client Side....

What is it computing different then last year?

You can't see the other players shot specifics, boost, spin, stance...etc now....

Maybe they should have left that crap out

...for those that have not played '06 online yet (or not much), there seems to be an appreciable amount of lag variance experienced between head-to-head players.

I was playing Spec (mic'd) last night who was experiencing a good deal of lag on some of his shots that I was not having a problem with (lag).

i just hit the east room real quick to see what all the fuss was about for myself...........I am happy to report that the only place that I experienced any lag wa on the in between stuff........lining up, setting up the shot etc......I experieced no discernable lag while swinging on any of my shots though. Now mind you i am still not happy about the lag that is there and I fully intend on writing a lengthy strongly worded email to ea (alot of good it will do though) I just am really sick and f ing tired of EA screwing us....... first they hosed us by buying the exclusive rights to NFL Some madden fans may think this is awesone but let me tell you my thoughts lack of competition will hurt all of us ultimately because why do they even have to try to better the game if they have no competition.....now dont get me wrong I think madden is a really good game and I think the new tiger is a really good game but it just seems to me that there are so many minor things in both titles that if EA would have just taken the time to polish all of theese minor things that they good have had spectactular games instead of just good games EA you really suck you have let me down more than you can possibly imagine...........want to make me and your other gamers happy dont f us any more, take the time to put out a quality game. I am sure that if you guys spent more time testing and polishing you could charge a little more and we would all still buy your games in record numbers because you would be showing us you care about your clientel. Right now I feel cheated............

I've noticed the same thing....I played Damon last night in the threads tourney and the lag was horrendous!!! But I played another guy from the east room later and had almost no lag whatsoever....

I've played online everyday since the game came out, including early this morning, and the lag has consistenly been the same with me. From tee to green, swinging, aiming, transitions, animations... everthing runs at ~40% speed. It doesn't matter what room the game is played from, the lag is the same. Mind you though, I'm playing through XBox Live. I wish we could get a handle on what makes some of the games play relatively free of lag, but I just don't see any hope for me, based on my experience thus far.

Oh, I still continue to play NCAA 2006 online though XBox Live, free of lag.... go figure

Honestly guys....I think we should petition hard for EA to put servers back up, or keep them up for TW05.....

After hearing todays discussion, that's probably our best bet....

I second that, i bet you would have more people playing it then 06.

I played twice yesterday. First game w/ Momo and Rick was sooo slow, I went and made dinner (and finished it too) between each shot. My second match was a 1 on 1 vs. Superswing, and it went pretty quick (about 90-95 percent) so lag wasn't too bad. So it seems like the more players and different options are slowing it down. I'd love to play 4 man, but I don't feel like wasting 1.5 hours for my 10 minutes worth of shots.

I am sad to here all of this news, but not surprised. I haven't been online yet, but if it's as bad as you all say, I'll see in '07 --Maybe.
EA really gets me fired up. They go from good to bad. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't usually things get better year after year? I mean, you learn from mistakes one year and correct them the next. Then there is new technology that comes out all the time, isn't that suppose to help your gaming experience? At least that's what we hear advertised.

Someone mentioned early in the thread: The only way they will do anything is if they feel it in the pocket book. Well, if online is going to be this bad for me, I will be returning this game for a full refund.

Might even talk to a lawyer about a class action lawsuit-----
For false advertising and raping the American public of $52 and change. [[>:]
Not only the Lag, but I heard the daily is not working properly, doesn't record your record for match play games, something about password protected rooms - geez, is there anything else that's wrong.

Offline the only glitch I've seen, and it actually pisses me off: Is where you can be just off the green and pitch it in the hole and comes up and says "Out of Bounds". When I played Ben Hogan, this happen to me on 4 different holes in the match.

EA new of all these problems, don't kid yourselves. They just didn't want to have to tell the public it would be delayed for another 6 months or something. And they only did that because they would have been losing a fortune.

I don't get it, how hard can it be to have a good golf game made in a year after the previous one. '04 was great, how could they mess '05 up like they did, and then back that up wth an even worse game in '06.
I really feel like a suicide Bomb - BAM RIGHT IN THE HQ OF EA-

With EA its like you've got to find the games they did well with..

So far this year it seems to be only Madden and NHL.. MVP '05 was a good solid game too, but we lost that series for awhile now..

Hopefully things will improve, or hopefully they make it up to thier customers next year..

It sucks to agree with that statement but I have to...

NCAA 06 is the best Release in the franchise to date, On and Offline

I am starting to think it would be better for all these titles to be developed by a different company.
