stock for me here is 46. On the 43 I didnt eagle hole 9 or 10 and 10 I had 3 wind helping and 9 doesnt matter the wind. I just got real greedy and thought I could make them  and spun them into tough putts.

Oh my! If you made 9 and 10, it would be a 41.   Math. 52 - 5 driveables made = 47. 47 - 43 = 4 hole-outs! Wow!

TGV Daily Scores for Spyglass Hill for 6/02/07 - Tour Mode Surprise Saturday (Triple Points)

1. Irish - 57 ---> 12 points.
2. Buzzn - 58 ---> 9 points.
3. Holenneck - 64 ---> 6 points.
T4. Dendo - 65 ---> 3 points.
T4. Musikamole - 65 ---> 3 points.

Shot a F29, B36   .  Irish would have won the daily again, and Buzzn would have come in 2nd. The top two scores were bogus, as were a few others. I stayed up to check. VVN sub-60 scores at Spyglass Hill.

Please feel free to post any last minute scores. Thanks.

I went splash as well on 16.   Thought I could make it with a FB 5 wood w/ 6 mph headwind...no dice.
------------------
Anyway...I am announcing my early retirement from competitive daily competition for the season.

It has been a real blast, and I greatly appreciate the education and encouagement from all. I will continue to report the daily results, but will discipline myself to only make one attempt each day during summer vacation. I will continue to refine what Irish, TDAWG, Bronc and the rest have taught me during my practice sessions. You guys are awesome.   It will be interesting to see how low I can go on my first attempts in the near future.

-----------------

Firestone CC - 50 is a very good score. This course has no driveables. Any sub-50 score requires hole-outs. A difficult test of skill and nerve...especially the most difficult par 5 16th. You need to fire at the pin from long range...hope to carry the water...and stick it close to a sucker pin for eagle.

TGV Daily Final Scores for Firestone for 6/03/07 - (Medium Pins)

1. Bronc - 48 (Journeyman) The splash award--->
2. Irish - 49 (Journeyman)
3. Buzzn - 50 (Apprentice)
T4. Holenneck - 51 (Apprentice)
T14. Drgnfyr - 53 (Novice)
* Musikamole - 54 (Umm...  ) The splash award--->

Please post any last minute scores. Thanks and good luck!

Sorry Bronc. You have been a great help, and a part of me is really going to miss the competition, but I absolutely want to get back into composing music again. It's my gift. I've had my music performed by many school bands, and I want to do more of that...for pleasure and income.

Something to be said for a clean round, or close to one. I remember FM saying once that he usually only makes one attempt at the daily. A 52 at Glen Abbey is pretty darn good.  I have struggled with clean rounds all year...thus the endless restarts, and hours of time playing the daily. Made a double bogey today...splash again...but did not hit restart.

----------

Like Firestone, Glen Abbey has no driveables. 50 is a very good score. The par 5 16th is the most difficult hole to eagle. The easy pin placement is actually very difficult.

TGV Daily Preliminary Scores for Glen Abbey for 6/04/07 - (Easy Pins)

1. Broncstad - 47 (Expert)
2. Holenneck - 49 (Journeyman)
3. Buzzn - 50 (Apprentice)
T4. Carramrod - 51 (Apprentice)
T4. Dendo - 51 (Apprentice)
T9. FM -52 (Novice)
T9. Sabbs - 52 (Novice)
* Musikamole - 57 ...went fishing again. I'm stumped.

Please post any last minute scores. Thanks and good luck!

My last daily report

Well...shot another double bogey do to a shank on the back nine. F27,B28 = 55. I hate restarts on the back nine do to shanks. I guess the swing mechanics in 06 does not fit my swing style. Time for a new hobby.

I can only hope that TW08 is a better game for me. Good luck to all, and good luck to new low scores: breaking 42, breaking 40.

Composing music is like a second job, which I will spend a considerable amount of time on this summer.
It looks like Resistance: Fall Of Man will be my new hobby for a while.

-------------A more personal reason after considerable thought--------------

After some more thought, I feel a more personal reason should be posted as to why I've stopped playing the daily. Why?  Because I've had lots of encouagement to get better at this game, and I feel like I've let some at TGV down a bit after investing in my growth.

I'd get home from work...hit restart until midnight almost every night to go low...only to realize finally that I've been ignoring my wife and five children. I guess for me, the PS3 should require quarters to play. Game over.

Chet you haven't let anyone down here bro.  You've made tons of progress.  This is a much tougher game than the PS2 versions and you hung in there with the big boys the whole way.   Anyway, enjoy spending time with the fam.

i shot 22 on the front and thought i was kicking ass. wow, 20 is nuts. Once i get more consistent with pitch-ins, i can  explore the mid to lower 40's. Today, the 13th hole got me twice, made par after trying for a hole-out. then didnt drive 15, lipped the pitch out, and finally..... missed a short putt on 17, have no idea how it lipped out. So i will just have to be happy with my 48.

Bronc and Jeff - Thanks so much for the kind remarks... it means a lot , and Bronc...good luck in any new record breaking scores. You sure can score very low in this game.

My last daily report

Got an idea, and it will just take a little help from the daily players who play late at night, like Irish and Dendo to pull this off.

I'll report on the daily, then enjoy reading a story to my younger children. I have missed too many story times.  For those that post after my report, feel free to copy my post and place yourself in the order you finished in relation to other TGV players. That's it!

--------

Why the change of heart? 1. I really enjoy following the daily, and that takes far less time than playing the daily. 2. TGV players are posting the best daily scores on the PS3!  I don't know how many countries that includes...but I find that quite incredible. 3. I'll play the daily now and then...make my very best effort in one attempt with all I have learned from everyone...and keep it fun! 4. I got some wonderful responses and a PM that just blew me away. The folks here at TGV are like an extended family to me, and that is something very special. O.K. ....before I get all choked up   , here are the results so far at Pebble Beach.

TGV Daily  Scores for Pebble Beach for 6/06/07 - (Medium Pins)

Point spread w/ 2 hours left on the clock: 43 - 55
1. Broncstad - 43 (Superhuman)
2. Buzzn - 46 (Expert)
T3. Holey - 48 (Journeyman) <------------Holenneck? Is this your new Daily name?
T3. Sabbs - 48 (Journeyman)
4. FM - 50 (Apprentice)
5. Musikamole - 52 (Novice)

------------------

Now, if Irish and Dendo post a 44 and 45 late at night, it would then look like this:

1. Broncstad - 43 (Superhuman)
2. Irish - 44 (Master)

3. Dendo - 45 (Master)
4. Buzzn - 46 (Expert)
T5. Holey - 48 (Journeyman)
T5. Sabbs - 48 (Journeyman)
6. FM - 50 (Apprentice)
7. Musikamole - 52 (Novice)

-----------------

Report from Pebble Beach  :  Pebble Beach has 2-4 driveables, depending on the wind. So even if Bronc made 4 driveables, he still was able to hole-out three times, thus the Superhuman status. VVN 43 Bronc.  Hole 15 requires a tailwind, and a strond headwind will stop a chance to make eagle at hole 16.  Hole 11 can be reached, but requires about 3 mph of tailwind. I would say the most difficult hole at Pebble is the par 5 14th, which requires a long approach shot to an elevated green...the pin always well guarded by a front deep bunker. There is a 41 out there at Pebble for the very best players. I'll need to get started on a new name for breaking 42.  Any ideas from other favorite games?

I made one 30 - 40 minute attempt. The cool thing was that I pitched-in on hole one for eagle  and eagled hole 18...the second most difficult hole for me. I didn't make any driveables today. My lowest round at Pebble is a 46.

------------------

Daily Skill Levels:

Break 44 - Superhuman
Break 46 - Master
Break 48 - Expert
Break 50 - Journeyman
Break 52 - Apprentice
Break 54 - Novice

Well that 43 was painful cuz I DE 2, and made 11,12, and 13. so I had the hole outs for a 41 once again but failed to git-r-done. the hole I buckled on were 4 and 16.

Mole personally I have been very appreciative of your work on the daily here lately! We used to have daily battles from everyone in the Daily. Posting scores and describing their rounds. You brought a lot of that back bro. Not to mention that your little descriptions of the course that day lets a lot of new daily people know what essentially amounts to a base score and what to expect. You have done a great job and everyone see that but you are doing the right thing bro as Bronc said family comes first!!  Youll get back into it a little more when you can. Until then I would like to say thanks because at a time when I dont have time to play the Daily much due to work etc. I still read the thread everday!!

...Glad to see you are able to keep up the Daily Report in some form, Mole.  Your regular input has been entertaining and I'm sure provides incentive for several of us to diligently continue posting on a regular basis.

I've been playing a bit on the Other Side lately, but when I see a late-late score I'll try to make note of it.

I truely enjoy all of your posts and input and most of all giving advice and seeing improvement.  I think got a chuckle when you said you were gonna read your reports to your children like it was a story. A nice way to keep involved a little still  spend time with the family and never miss a beat. I love it!!!! There will be some new tourny winners for about a week as I will be wheelin' the bronco!!! But mole, I will still be reading your daily reports via cell phone.

Moley . I figured that was you. Man...I've been tracking your scores...and you have been really kicking butt lately.

 Bronc...soooo close to breaking 42! It will happen.

Bronc, Dendo and Drgnfyr...a big thanks for the very kind remarks. Being a daily reporter is just plain fun.

Bronc...I think you mentioned that you like Gears Of War. Maybe it has a cool name for the top dog...or beating the game, and I can post that level/status when you post a 41.
