ORIGINAL: holenneck i hate princeville. i could go back and try a few more times for a clean round, but the course really frustrates me. missed an eagle putt on 2, missed a bending putt on a par 3, and didnt hit the last par 5 in 2, so a 53 was as good as i could do today. ----- The Prince Course, located in Princeville, HI., could be considered a fantasy course, much like what Oakmont was to the players in the U.S. Open this Sunday. Both courses are over the top frustrating. No one is guaranteed a clean round at The Prince on the first attempt because the 2nd green can't always be reached. I made one attempt where I had a 6 mph headwind for the approach. I know that's a red light, so I hit restart. Holey...I'm guessing you had the distance on the last par 5, but missed the green. The last par 5 can always be reached with a lay-up of 275 yards. That seems to be a good number for a paused fully lofted no boost 3 wood with no wind. It's prolly better to lay-up to 285 in case you get a tail wind. A no boost paused 8 degree will do that. -------- TGV Preliminary Scores for The Prince for 6/17/07 w/ 40 minutes left - Championship Sunday (Medium Pins) 1. Broncstad - 49 (Journeyman) T2. Buzzn - 50 (Apprentice) T2. Irish - 50 (Apprentice) T5. Dendo - 51 (Apprentice) T8. Holey - 53 (Novice) T8. Moley - 53 (Novice) Notice that all TGV players today broke the top ten, so a 53 is still a solid number after many months of everyone playing this course in the daily. Scores of 58 are on the leaderboard. No expert, master, or superhuman scores on this, the most difficult course in the game imo. Yes...even more difficult than Firestone. ------------------------ Well sports fans, it was a hard day for the dynamic duo of Holey-Moley. Rumor has it that a sinister alien used mind control on the dynamic duo today. ------------------------ Bronc...I'd like to thank you again on the aiming tip for drawing the ball for consistent full power. I now have a dead on accurate boost chart for 100% power for 0-8 taps of boost, and used it on my third attempt at The Prince. This boost chart also takes into account different loft settings for both irons and wedges...much like what SW did with his boost chart. I made every par 3 and par 4. I nailed the par 5 4th hole with a draw shot approach. I missed the three difficult par 5's...2, 10, and 15. The tree blocks the view of the pin on number 10 for aiming an iron draw shot, so I unfortunately over paused a 7 iron and came up short in the rough. 2 and 15 are 3 wood shots that I know how to play...just wasn't my day on those two holes. No help from the wind on the two driveables on my last attempt. Oh well... this is no slam dunk sub-50 course...so congrats on the 49.
