As I said in my last report, outstanding scores from both Irish and Bronc at St. Andrews. Now Bronc, a 42 is really something special. I wish you luck in shooting the magic number 39 before the season ends. Heck, a 40 would also be awesome.  My assignment is still to break my best score of 46...perhaps at Pebble Beach.

TGV Preliminary Scores for Spyglass Hill for 6/14/07 - Tour Mode Thursday

As usual, the leaders are names you never see at the top of the board on default days. Holey has the best "real" score so far.

T4. Holey - 59
T12. Dendo - 62
T12. Moley - 62 (Bogey free )

Reporting from paradise. Spyglass Hill is truly a natural beauty as part of the cluster of golf courses that can be found at Pebble Beach. I remember driving my family around the area and seeing a lot of deer sitting under trees along the fairways. It wasn't that way when I was in high school and lived very close (San Jose). They didn't move or run when golfers walked down the fairways. They seem to like the grass and graze often. Deer have actually been a big problem in that area for two reasons: 1. There is no natural predator. 2. You can't shoot them and stock the meat in the fridge.

To break 60 in tour mode at Spyglass Hill, you really need to know what club to use on all the par 3's, especially with the expert pin placements. I made par on every one, and felt like I made birdie, and made no bogeys on all 18 holes.

I see that Irish is on the first tee. Let me guess...he will shoot a 54-55 today. Good Luck.

thx mole, I dont know about 39 this year but maybe  41 and at the very best 40 for me. my goal is 41 though.

Yep thats exactly how it is in pebble beach/pacific grove. I have staggard home many of times in the wee hours of the night as a teenager and had a deer or two scare the sh*t out of me as they were running away from my front yard just as scared  as I was.

Bambi scared Bronc?   I remember riding with my dad as a kid when a deer ran into the front passenger side where I was seated. It too scared the sh*t out of me. Sadly, the deer did not survive.

Well...your scores have been a huge inspiration to me. I busted my butt to get better at pitch-ins, and that has helped lower my scores. I pitched-in today for eagle in tour mode. That was from tips I got from you. Thanks! I wish you luck with shooting a 40/41.
-----------
Irish...forgive me, but I noticed too late that I needed to update my PS3 to check last minute scores. My guess is that you played the daily because I saw you on my buddy list playing Tigger. Please post your score, and I will update the TGV Spyglass Hill post. Thanks!

TGV Scores for Firestone for 6/15/07 w/ 30 minutes left - Fat Friday (Hard Pins)

1. Broncstad - 47 (Expert)
T2. Carramrod - 48 (Journeyman)
T2. Irish - 48 (Journeyman)
4. Holey - 49 (Journeyman)
T5. Buzzn - 50 (Apprentice)
T15. Fm - 54 (Um...don't hurt me..  )

Reporting from the lush green grass of Firestone.   I actually have been to Firestone CC, as a boy. It is lush green and quite majestic up close. A truly awesome sight. The video game does not do it justice. I made a few attempts on the front, but could not make a very good go at it. My daughter was rushed by ambulance last night to the hospital. I got very little sleep. She is at home now and will fully recover. I will sleep much better tonight.

Firestone has no driveables. Bronc was tied for the lead with a 48 when I made my few attempts on the front side. After I quit, which was after a short time, Bronc posted a 47. That tells a daily reporter a lot. This was no 10 restart, work all day at it 47. This was a "caught fire" round.  Scary good. VVN 47 Bronc.

Anyone who shoots a 50 or lower at Firestone has shot a very good round of golf. Very nice scores!

TGV Final Scores for Glen Abbey for 6/16/07 - Surprise Saturday (Hard Pins)

1. Holey - 49 (Journeyman)
T2. Dendo - 50 (Apprentice)
T2. Moley - 50 (Apprentice)
T4. Buzzn - 51 (Apprentice)

Holey-Moley...The dynamic duo  are back and leading the daily as of 9:45 E.S.T.

-------
VVN shooting everyone. No non-TGV player shot a 49 or 50 today.
-------

Glen Abbey has no driveables. I was well rested and played well. The only mishap came at the par 5 16th. The ball jumped on me and flew the green, costing me a stroke. I made it back with a flop-in eagle from 65 yards on the par 4 17th.

TGV Preliminary Scores for The Prince for 6/17/07 - Championship Sunday (Medium Pins)

1. Buzzn - 50
4. Holey - 53
8. Moley - 55

The Prince has two possible driveables with a 3 - 6 mph headwind, so with luck a 48 is possible w/ no hole-outs required. This is also the only course in the game where you absolutely must carry a 3 wood to eagle the 2nd hole.

I lost my notes on the medium pin settings, so I thought I would hack it around with the caddy tips. The par 4's are easy because the approaches are short. I made all but the 18th because of a flyer lie.   The caddy tips are off on the 3's and 5's, as usual in this game. I made only 2 out of 4 par 5's, and 2 out of 4 par 3's...and I made these from memory. No tailwind on the driveables.
--------------------

Will Tigger win the U.S. open today? He is in the last pairing and two strokes behind the leader.

i hate princeville. i could go back and try a few more times for a clean round, but the course really frustrates me. missed an eagle putt on 2, missed a bending putt on a par 3, and didnt hit the last par 5 in 2, so a 53 was as good as i could do today.

The Prince Course, located in Princeville, HI.,  could be considered a fantasy course, much like what Oakmont was to the players in the U.S. Open this Sunday. Both courses are over the top frustrating. No one is guaranteed a clean round at The Prince on the first attempt because the 2nd green can't always be reached. I made one attempt where I had a 6 mph headwind for the approach. I know that's a red light, so I hit restart.

Holey...I'm guessing you had the distance on the last par 5, but missed the green. The last par 5 can always be reached with a lay-up of 275 yards. That seems to be a good number for a paused fully lofted no boost 3 wood with no wind. It's prolly better to lay-up to 285 in case you get a tail wind. A no boost paused 8 degree will do that.

TGV Preliminary Scores for The Prince for 6/17/07 w/ 40 minutes left - Championship Sunday (Medium Pins)

1. Broncstad - 49 (Journeyman)
T2. Buzzn - 50 (Apprentice)
T2. Irish - 50 (Apprentice)

T5. Dendo - 51 (Apprentice)
T8. Holey - 53 (Novice)
T8. Moley - 53 (Novice)

Notice that all TGV players today broke the top ten, so a 53 is still a solid number after many months of everyone playing this course in the daily. Scores of 58 are on the leaderboard.   No expert, master, or superhuman scores on this, the most difficult course in the game imo. Yes...even more difficult than Firestone.

------------------------
Well sports fans, it was a hard day for the dynamic duo  of Holey-Moley.  Rumor has it that a sinister alien  used mind control on the dynamic duo today.

------------------------

Bronc...I'd like to thank you again on the aiming tip for drawing the ball for consistent full power. I now have a dead on accurate boost chart for 100% power for 0-8 taps of boost, and used it on my third attempt at The Prince. This boost chart also takes into account different loft settings for both irons and wedges...much like what SW did with his boost chart.

I made every par 3 and par 4.    I nailed the par 5  4th hole with a draw shot approach.  I missed the three difficult par 5's...2, 10, and 15. The tree blocks the view of the pin on number 10 for aiming an iron draw shot, so I unfortunately over paused a 7 iron and came up short in the rough. 2 and 15 are 3 wood shots that I know how to play...just wasn't my day on those two holes. No help from the wind on the two driveables on my last attempt. Oh well... this is no slam dunk sub-50 course...so congrats on the 49.

I shot a career low at PB this morning. 42!!! I went stock on the front, lit up the back and went out with a bang with DE on 18. I played for about an hour last night, then this morning was my second try.
