What about the ball suspended in mid-air on the green. I had a straight putt about 12 ft and it fell out of the air and went about 4 feet. would have been an easy putt and I could have a much better chance of making the chip cuz it would have played true unlike the putt obviously did.

ER1CKSON -> RE: PS3 League Season II Rules (5/18/2007 11:52:44 PM)

If you or your opponent miss a straight in putt to a glitch, the stroke needs be taken off your final round score and if it is going to alter the outcome of winning/losing the opponent should concede that stroke at some point to make it even.

Pretty much the sportsman like thing to do and something many of us have practiced for years. [8D]

That should be the case for any glitch EA throws at you that results in a loss of stroke.

...question1: how do you always know for sure that it might always be a straight in putt that would have resulted if there was no glitch (ie. the suspended ball)?

question 2 "any glitch EA throws"  seems like this could be open to mutiple interpretations, some not always definitive one way or the other esp. in instances where one person sees one thing and opponent sees something else entirely.

BRONCSTAD -> RE: PS3 League Season II Rules (5/19/2007 2:42:23 AM)

You still get a putting line, but in this instance it was tour and it was pebble. I dont know about you but  I know pebbble real well and if I had to take a guess I would say you know it better. My opponent and I discussed how straight it was and i changed the putt to a chip and check every possible grid 5in at a time. I dont want the stroke I just want it to be fair and erickson that sounds good. I have been here for a couple months and it seems like everyone is pretty fair and doesn't try to pull quicky. We have been playing tiger long enough to know exactley where the ball is gonna land. We are not perfect and sometimes hit the ball a tap short or long,but never 80% short. I would hope that the interpretation wouldn't differ too much.

TDAWG23232 -> RE: PS3 League Season II Rules (5/19/2007 2:55:38 AM)

I would say that the interpretation my most players here would be the same.....me personally, if my opponent has something along those lines happens, I make sure that stroke doesn't decide the game regardless if it was a short straight in putt or a 50 foot bender.  As it applies to the league, we've all played enough to know what our chances of making certain putts are.  If you think you would have made it, I'd say subtract the stroke.[8D]

Drgnfyr5 -> RE: PS3 League Season II Rules (5/19/2007 6:31:21 AM)

I intentionally wrote it that way because we have to have a set of rules. I dont want to have to make a judgement on every putt chip/pitch etc that has to be used. The rule is that we have to play every shot if it comes down to a question. I think that is the best way to do it.

Now let me make it clear that is how we have to do it. If you know the guy has a bad shot or a glitch and you dont make things right then trust me you wont be playing here long. We cant make a rule for every little shot that could glitch but we can play with class. If word gets around that you arent trying to play fair you will be confronted. There is no place here for unsportsmanlike conduct.

I didnt know that the ball in air glitch could be chipped. Chip it if you want but personally I would putt it and if it comes up short give the man a stroke back. As of right now unless there are reasons not to we can chip or pitch a suspended ball.

This site was founded so that people can play a fair and fun game and that is our ultimate goal. Along with trying to make me at least descent at this game. So lets all remember that and have a little fun. [:)][:)]

BRONCSTAD -> RE: PS3 League Season II Rules (5/19/2007 12:12:50 PM)

This is why I continue to be a part if TGV. Good People!!!!

This is why I made the suggestion that we play two rounds and only record the one that you host. I never get any kind of glitch when I host. The ball alway play true. If I hole it out, it stays in the cup, never suspended in the air, never skips clubs and shot types. Is this the same for you guys?

Drgnfyr5 -> RE: PS3 League Season II Rules (5/19/2007 2:09:29 PM)

Hmm I havent really payed attention to it bronc but to be honest I have never had many problems. I very rarely had problems (I havent played much lately) I think I have had one suspended ball on the PS3. I have had a couple of shots that acted funny. I tend to have the people I play have problems(dont remember if I hosted or not). Even these are seldom. I have had the most problem with people taking a practice swing and then swinging and the ball takes off after the swing has gone thru [&:]. The last time Brody and I played was bad on his part, many balls looked like they were going somewhere and wound up somewhere else. [X(]

AndyTL462 -> RE: PS3 League Season II Rules (5/21/2007 10:04:44 AM)

Bronc is right, the host does not get glitched EVER!!  The host witnesses the true result no matter what the other player sees.

Drgnfyr5 -> RE: PS3 League Season II Rules (5/21/2007 11:48:51 AM)

OK is everyone cool with chipping an elevated ball?  I think that is cool as long as it is consistent.
