cook grenades. This is established by holding the grenade for a sufficient amount of time (around two seconds) so when it lands near the character's enemy it will explode almost immediately allowing no time for their enemy to run away.

<--- not buying COD4

Unreal Tournament will have my attention this winter.

Anyone who loves Resistance and is used to the gameplay is going to be frustrated with COD4.... it's "too realistic."  In a nutshell, if you dont see your enemy before he see's you, your dead.  6 bullets to the body = death.  1-2 to the head = death.. and those are the wimpy guns.  Assult rifle deaths come even faster

I HIGHLY recommend renting before buying.

I don't like the sound of that but can't help but wonder if it has something to do with the game mode(s) locked into the beta.  I read something about a realistic mode where things were just that, more realistic.  Perhaps the beta is set to that?

From the video's I've seen, it seemed to take more than a couple shots to put someone down but that was campaign footage and not online play.  1-2 shots per kill, while realistic, just isn't fun to play imo.  Promotes camping way to much and it just turns into I saw you first so I win.

I'm still holding out hope.

I hope your right because it definately would be a worthy buy if it has regular arcade damage.

This looks sweet!!  nad since UT3 is being held up untill the first of 2008,this will be a must have.I differ from MOMO,i liked the beta exeept for some of the idiots that would join the games. It was the best real lifelike war game i have liked so far.

If COD4 plays like one hit kill matches in R:FOM...then I'm not interested. The only value I see in one hit kill games would be training real soldiers for real combat tactics. One bullet can kill or put you in the hospital. I want to play army...not join. Well...I'm too old anyway.

Need to check into Unreal Tournament. Is there a demo or older version for the PS3 or 360 that would be fun to play while I'm  at home getting my strength back?

Not that I'm aware of Chet.  I think the last UT was back in 2004 (I could be wrong) before the 360 and PS3 were out yet.  You could get one on the PC if you wanted.
