Gametrailers Video---Autheticity and Leveling

Hanks a sicko .... listen to what he says about a taser

Hanks a crack-up with the taser. Geez!!! I downloaded the quicktime movie and played it full screen with my Event pro speakers cranked!

Having real soldiers from Afganistan to model gun handling to add to the realism of the game is a very very nice touch!

Downloading PC demo now.

The CPU is fast enough...Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz, but I only have a 128 MB NVIDIA Ge Force 5500 video card. Old technology.  I'll step down the resolution and turn other video effects off to get the best frame rate. I don't care if the game looks fuzzy...I just want to see what it's like to play.

Still waiting for the download...stupid DSL download speed.

Good to hear you got some quality time with the demo. My video card is just a little under spec, so the game could not launch.  Upgrading the video card would be no problem...but I don't have the physical strength yet to monkey around with my computer and replace the 250 watt power supply with a larger one that can power the video card that I need...and I'm not that impatient to take the computer to a shop and spend more money to upgrade the parts. Just keep those very cool COD4 movies coming. I've watched the Hank video at least five times.

------------------------------
Regarding the PS3/360 version. Why both platforms? Perhaps friends on both sides of the fence?

I do like the online interface of the 360...and the vibration of the 360 controller when shooting guns while playing HALO. I don't see any vibration switch on my new HORI controller for the PS3. Prolly wouldn't need vibration with all the fast action and realism.

-----------------

Oh...I read your blog. You seem to like Gamer Score a lot on the 360.   Does that unlock anything or give you credit for downloads or merchandise? Kinda like those tickets you get at pizza places after playing games and then redeeming them for cheap plastic toys?

1) From the link to the Hank Video there are many more COD 4 video's on Gametrailers in both HD & SD quality.
2) Both versions because of friends that will have it for each console.
3) I play the 360 every night ... Achievements are just a stat ... cant eat it or anything gets you nothing... just a stat.

I rented COD3 and am going through it in single player. It's very different from R:FOM, but very cool in a different way.

COD4...

I thought the graphics on the 360 demo were awesome but I didn't care for the gameplay too much. The game seems too real for me, I like a shooter to be a little more fast paced. I don't think I will buy this for either platform.

COD4 is a lot faster in pace. Run and gun comes to mind.

*I assumed you were referring to the COD3 demo, as opposed to the COD4 beta.

Actually I was referring to the COD4 beta, my bad I said demo. I wouldn't call it run and gun by any means. Most of the games I played you had to stay put in one spot to maximize kills and avoid being killed repeatedly. When I think of run and gun I think about Resistance and Halo, both of which I enjoy far more than COD4. Just my .02

The maps game types we played usually on the COD 4 beta were Objective type games so running and guning was not the most desireable thing to do..... you should have tried death match Mark (which was an option in the beta)... certainly a heck of a lot more like resistance.... however you cant get shot  as many times before you go down.... one thing I actually like better.

Umm...everyone here knows my shooter skills.  Is COD4 offline campaign mode going to be way more difficult than Resistance? I hope not.

I have been playing COD3 for about 3 days on Easy...and have noticed the game requires more patience. You can get killed real easy if you play gun n' run style. And this is on easy mode.

I need to play duck and cover a lot to complete a mission...and it plays more like a sim. I need to pretty much shoot the enemy from pretty far away. I have not had much in the way of close combat opportunities. A lot of grenade use...press forward...shoot from long range...more grenades...duck and cover...etc. It is much different than Resistance.

I would purchase COD4 if I knew there was an EASY mode...like COD3. Anyone know?

Yes there are modes of play (difficulty settings) for all versions.

In the PC Demo the choices are:
Recruit
Regular
Hardened
Veteran

I'm pretty sure there is an online co-op mode Chet so even if it's really hard you can get 4 together and go at it like that.

Co-op AND Recruit. Thanks.  Looks like I'll be visiting Game Crazy to pre-order COD4.

I have not read anything about co-op for the non-multiplayer part.... for either console or for the PC ... so that is uncertain at this point.

Guess I was thinking of a different game.   You're keeping up with the news on it more than I am so I am gonna say you are correct Karl.  No co-op is
