That has neither been confirmed or totally denied by Epic..... they are unsure at this point if cross platform capabilities will be included in the released game.
The major difference between the 2 is the ability to use mods..... Epic already will include a PC mod tool with the PS3 game version either on the disc somehow or as a download from their site...... any and all user modified maps they make available from the Epic site will be easilly converted to the PS3 format..... ( its just a different save option in the User interface).

I think thats what I meant... the map editor.  Word has it that the 360 will not have this 'cross platform' capability and the PS3 definately will.

In all fairness.... Mark Rein has said they are hard at work trying to reach an agreement with MS on being able to use mods...... It may turn out to be a paid dld from the MS Marketplace though... they are just not sure at this time.

It may sound strange for me to say this but this game seems almost too real for my tastes. That's one thing I noticed during the 360 beta as well. To me simulating actual war is not an ideal gaming experience. One of the things I like about games like Resistance and Halo is that there is a fantasy element to the violence that doesn't seem to be present in COD. That was one of the reasons I didn't care for Rainbow 6 either.

Just my .02

I agree to an extent Mark.I hated RB6 and GRAW because of the real life aspect of them, but after playing this beta(which i was not good at all playing)I realy liked this one.I think that if it has clan suport it will be a great game.I had a blest every time me,Hop,FM,Schriney and whoever else were on with us was playing it.I think the more i play it the more i will enjoy it.I am only getting it at the start for the 360 because of the other 2 great games comeing out for the PS3 at the end of November.

Yes it does have clan support just like the beta did you can add[TGV] in front of your name once you reach level 11 (like other options these are earned)..... you can go from game to game as a group.

Just got back from pre-ordering it for the PS3 .... my gamestop said it should be in by 5PM on monday 11/5 as they are driving the stores games up from NYC on monday.

Mole's thoughts on shooters.

Resistance has a very nice balance between realism and fantasy. Some weapons take several shots to kill...some are one/two hit kills. All of the weapons are fun to use. The RB6 and GRAW weapons are missing something for a person who shoots real rifles and pistols. As to the COD series, COD2 and COD3 are both outstanding. The offline campaign and weapons are both enjoyable. Also, on the easy/medium difficulty settings offline...the duck and cover is not needed as much, unlike RB6 and GRAW. COD games are great battle sims offline for those new to the FPS format.

Regarding online play, it will require more strategy to stay alive in COD4 than with Resistance. Also, freakin' fast gun and run players won't own other players.   As to the comparison between RB6 and COD4, even with the necessity to duck and cover in both games, COD4 has far more to offer when it comes to strategy, weapons, team play and just plain "wow" effect.

Just my .02

Why do you think this is true ???
I shoot real rifles and pistols..... and I didnt feel that way about these games..... I do feel that way about RFoM and Halo though ....

It seemed like the recoil was a bit too much in RB6. I've shot a semi-automatic M-14 several times at the shooting range over the years and it didn't go flying up into the air. The barrel stays pretty level. With that said...I am not shooting an automatic rifle...and never have.  It's not legal in left field California.  Not sure about Texas...where judges pack heat.   Ah...disregard the RB6 comment. I prolly would need to A/B RB6 and COD4 to form a better opinion. The game play was very cool in RB6...I just don't have a solid internet connection yet to really enjoy peer to peer play.

And yes...HALO and R:FOM are fantasy/arcade shooting games regarding the weapons. When I said the weapons are fun...I didn't mean to say they felt like real weapons...but that the games had a nice balance overall regarding arcade and sim...like Tigger.

Man...I can't wait for COD4. It's driving me nuts.   Are there any action figures    or posters for this game that I can right now to decorate the bedroom. I'm sure my wife would love it.

BTW...our wedding anniversary was today! 21 years of marriage! And thanks to the medical team at St. Marys...I will be looking forward to another 20+ years with my little darlin'.
