ORIGINAL: Pingbubby I played for about 1/2 hour on Sun........I couldnt see people till they were shooting me on the Mexican streets.........Its one thing to just get whacked but when I cant see them its annoying. I have a standard TV also and I have messed with contrast and brightness for RFOM I still have trouble on a couple of maps(depending on party size) It seems I am not the only one having difficulty seeing the bad guys. Ping...even with my improved HD settings, the bad guys are still tricky to pick out against the background, but not as bad as before. Part of it may be the game design...unlike large aliens standing in the middle of the street there are life size guys way in the distance playing hide and shoot. I mostly use a scope and map to target and shoot, unless all hell breaks loose. E$...I'm not sure what goggles I had on, but it looked like my character was heavily drugged, like a bad LSD trip. I'll give it another try. FM... Yes. I was the same distance away from both monitors, with the same pair of glasses. I'm lazy and like to prop my feet up on the bed, so the gaming chair is very close to my small monitor. Both the 360 and PS3 render the graphics o.k., but differently, giving each a unique quality. Thanks for the tip. I got much better at adjusting the in game contrast and brightness boxes using custom monitor settings, much like adjusting the test pattern in the old days on a TV. It helped. To answer E$'s question, the left box is for contrast, which is crucial for separating the enemy from the closest object...so both don't blend in together, like camouflage. You need to see four equal size squares in the left box for good contrast. Top left = dark, bottom left = light, top right = light, bottom right = dark. This adjustment alone has made it easier for me to see the enemy. As for brightness, you should see 11 separate vertical bars that go from dark to light (left to right). Be careful not to turn up the brightness too high to where some of the dark bars go away. You will only make matters worse. Each of the 11 bars need to be visible for the best possible picture. I found it ultimately to be a matter of taste for each of the boxes. Good luck! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- It looks like Lair will get the eye candy award this year...well...GT5 also comes to mind. The developers of Lair really went to town on graphics. The current issue of PLAY has an interview with the president on the making of Lair and tech stuff.
