I posted this on the 360 side...but was curious as to how it works for PS3 players of COD4.
Regarding Match Bonus
I finally played on a team with a level 10 prestige player (yellow cross). During HQ play...he was consistently getting 50 plus kills. A very good shooter.
Question: How can one maximize the match point bonus? More kills? More HQ captures? A little of both? Has anyone gotten over 400 points in match point bonus alone. I've gotten 400 points on match point bonuses alone a few times when the team is awesome and I am shooting well. My average for a win is 300 points plus the score of 300 (win) = 600 total points.

Don't quote me on this but I think you rack up the most points in HQ by defending the captured HQ. KIlls, challenges, UAV's, Air Strikes, and Helicopters also give xp bonus points throughout the match.[8D]

Yes... Headquarters is 20 points for a capture and 5 points each 5 seconds you hold the HQ. Also, 5 points a kill and 10 for calling in UAV, Heli, or Airstrike support.
If you can get 50 kills on HQ you will get well over 1000 points if you win the match. I think my best bonus on an HQ has been about 600 points (not counting any challenge bonuses).

A big thanks. That was what I was looking for...a goal from TGV sharp shooters. [:)] I've never gotten 600 match bonus points. My best is 400. I average 300. Awesome to know it is possible. [8D]
Also...good stuff Mx...now if I can only stay alive long enough to rack up some extra points when defending the objective. I am usually the guy who storms into headquarters with a machinegun and grenades...getting the capture points...then getting shot or blown up. [:(] At least my team wins. [8D]

Me too bro.[8D] You still get the 5 points for every 5 seconds of holding the HQ even if you are dead. Everyone on your team does as long as the team holds the HQ... So in my opinion, the most important thing is to have some crashers trying to capture while other players sit on the perimeter to defend. There are many different strategies to this game type... that is what makes it so cool.
