Week 5 results

Sunday Netherlands and Turkey met up for a match and while the Netherlands had the better players Turkey played way better and the score ended in a 0-0 draw.

Due to a power outage the second game was delayed until tonight.

Once again Netherlands had better players but Turkey played way way better. Turkey takes this one 2-0

well croatia and spain got together tonight, and i dont think croatia has woke up yet in this tourney. with a 1 -0 win

2ng game had some good action and at half it 1-1 then start of the 2nd was sloppy on both sides and croatia scored on 2 bad passes!

Sweden and CR hooked up this evening for their matches. Game 1 was a defensive struggle with neither team holding a distinct advantage. Game 2 saw CR show why they are still the team to beat.

Week 6

Portugal and Greece got together last night for what would be two very different types of games. In game one The Greeks got off to a great start early and had a 2-0 lead at halftime. Portugal came within a goal when Hugo Almeida scored but Greece got it right back with another goal. Almeida put another one in late but it was too little too late for Portugal as they lose 3-2 to Greece.

Portugal came out in game two with something to prove and defensively they put the clamps on Greece and held them shotless for the game with Portugal getting 59% of the posession. Portugal created several opportunities but the game winner was a PK by Ronaldo after Almeida was taken down in the box. Portugal held on for the 1-0 victory.

I apologize for not remembering the Greek goal scorers but those name are long and hard to pronounce.

great games jay. darn the speed of your dutch boys. the goal scorers for that games was Altintop and Nihat.

great set of games between the never say die turkey team and the dominamt spain team.

the first game was a battle with both teams attacking early and often with the final score being a 3-1 turkey win. 2 goals fluffed in by Nihat and a 3rd dropped in by Altintop for Turkey and a great goal scored by Torres for Spain.

in the second game spain jumped out to an early lead with great hustle goal by torres and held the lead until the 84th minute where the persistent turks scored two late goals by Nihat and Altintop to squeak out at 2-1 win.

Gcc beats Schriney 1-0 in game 1.

well Croatia and powerhouse Portugal went at it, the 1st game ended in a 0-0 tie with Retardo being flanked all game.

2nd. game saw a different play by both, it turned into a slide-tacklefest, but both teams did some goal slapping power, with another tie 2-2

Czech and Spain would meet up in the 2nd to last week of the season and the first game would be exciting. Both teams would have chances and the play was back and forth. The Czech's would finally get on the board in the 40' when Baros would net a ball, assist Koller. Game 1 would end 1-0 Czech.

Game 2 of this exciting series would see again, back and forth play. Rosicky would net his first goal by fighting off a spanish defender and beating the keeper, 1-0 Czech. Rosicky would strike again in the 2nd half with nifty foot work as the ball looked like it was connected to his foot with a string and the Czech would win 2-0.
