I don't think I got banned because my PC crashed last night & had me already signed into TGV when I accessed the site today.

I thought I logged out but I do forget sometimes when my kids take over the gaming room.

I tried deleting all the cookies on my browser, rebooting my modem, logging out like a million times. I couldn't reset last visit time either. Refresh seemed to help keep me logged off but then I couldn't login. I got that "we are sorry" error message. I emailed the forums@thegamesvillage for help but I don't know if that fixed it or if messing around with the cookies in the browser did it.

Thanks, if one of you helped the other village idiot today.

If I did get banned, does the banee ever know why?

I am pretty, absolutely certain that I did not ban myself, I think.

lol I am having so much trouble logging onto the site. When I try to login I get this error message:

HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

Then, just to make it even more interesting,...

when I come to this thread; it has me logged in.

Maybe I did ban myself & I just don't know it.

I did notice that the address had the word "ladder" in it while I was trying to login so it may be due to the ladder maintenance & the fact that those 2 logins are linked.

If you have it set to stay logged in, you shouldn't have any problems if you are loading from your favorites. Don't delete cookies or you will have to relogin and then you would get the error. Hopefully we'll have it fixed next week.

You know I love this thread dearly, E$ but I have to post here every day now just to login. I truly mean no pun & that part alone is very sad for me 'cuz you know I love a good pun & this site is full of the greatest humor I have ever heard.

Honestly, E$, it is now all part of my login process. I can't login anymore. I have to come here & post in order to see if I am a guest or me. I must login like a dozen times before I succeed. It says I am me on the home page after I login but I always get the "We're sorry" error message. So I refresh the error page & then use the back button to return to the home page where it confirms that I am logged on as me. Then, when I try to access posts since last visit it only shows me last night's. Then, if I try to click on today's posts it says I don't have permission & I am a guest again so then I try all kinds of things like refreshing every page, empty cache, (like Todd suggested; that one might be the key but I am still not sure) & then I post in here just to ascertain who I am.

I am very grateful that this thread exists here now while I am going through this so thank you very, very much for banning yourself & if there is anything you can do to look into my profile & see why I am having so much trouble...I would be very appreciative.

I was hoping that the problem was due to the ladder maintenance that went on since our logins are linked there but if that maintenance has concluded then I am afraid that you & the site admins. are my only hope OB1.

Do you check the box under your username and password that says "Save as cookie?" If not, then you need to do that. That would explain why you are being timed out of the forums. My suggestion would be to log out, log back in. Make sure you check that box that says "save as cookie." Log in, you will now get that error. Instead of going back, just type in http://www.thegamesvillage.com/forums into your browser and hit enter. This will take you back to the forums and you should be logged in.

Once that is done, save that page to your favorites. You should never have to log in again. Hopefully that works for ya.
