I think I got most of it right but I now get this message when I login. "KARENNORA" isn't a member of the ladder. Would you like to sign into the ladder or continue on." There is a link for "sign into the ladder" & a link for "continue on". I have been choosing continue on which sends me to the forums as a guest even though I have always had the "always save as cookie" thing activated in my profile setting all along all through this adventure. 
I will prolly attempt to sign into the ladder one of these times just to see what happens.  I don't seem to be able to get "automatically logged in" like y'all have been mentioning so maybe that will make that happen for me.  This village idiot appreciates all your help.  ty
