Cool stuff, guys. I used to be an artist but haven't drawn or painted anything since I quit the ganja years ago. Wish I could scan some of my old ones, but they are all way too big to fit on a scanner.

It doesn't ruin it, but I bet if you inked in the original pencil sketch so that it would be pure black and white it would look even better. But then that could just be me, I always prefer chiaroscuro in art. You know, major light/dark contrasts.

Thnx again everyone.
The original was sketched on notebook paper with lines. I used adobe photo to remove them.
But I can probably use the plain copy to try different things with. Nice ideas from you & Drgn.

Z using some thing like Adobe Illustrator and a scan you can even use gradients of color to fill in the design. It gives you a lot of creative freedom for adding coloration.

The paintings are very beautiful, CC. At first, they appear to be dark, but as you look at them you can see the brightness in each one of them & it overpowers the dark. Please give your wife all the TGV kudos for us & tyvm for sharing them.

I'm the artist of the paintings that CC submitted.  My thoughts on the above is that there is a sense of heaven and hell theme.  I think if you just color it in warm and cool , it would be more dramatic like water and fire.  Water being blue, green, and yellow and fire being red, orange, and yellow.  make the color intensity as pure without any saturation.

Guess I've got work to do.  Thank you for the perspective.

When I get the re-work done, I'll post it again of course.
Maybe I can theme it with my book somehow...

Below is a sample of the Scrimshaw that I produced and sold in my youth (high school era)

Eventually-blank ivory pieces became more difficult to obtain.  By time I got to college, I no longer had time to do it any longer.

Very impressive Dennis.    Pretty neat you could get that detailed on something so small.

Wait a minute.  You produced a penny?  Isn't that illegal? (not that you doing something illegal is all that shocking)
