We killed 2 birds with one stone tonight in the 3/26 tourney.

In game #2, Brody was battling for 1st place when he ran into an unfortunate hole (possible glitch?) that forced him to time-out.  Then, in game #3, I was disconnected on the 3rd hole of an 18h tourney.

At this exact moment, Brody and I are lookin at a cluster bomb of losses.   I'm not sure exactly how to go about this situation with regards to records or reporting - does anyone have any input they would like to share on this?

ie: if there should be some kind of leeway/mercy given to players who end up in this kind of circumstance?  should they have to report them?... should they not have to report any of them?.... something in between?

A pretty slipperly slope here all... since we're all in it together I figure you might have a few ideas.  Thanx

I know in the heydays of Tigger, if the match wasn't finished it wasn't reported...now there were instances where if you were x amount of strokes down with like 1 or 2 holes left then you would consider it a loss and report it....I know regardless of the score I would never expect someone to report an incomplete match, and as a competitor I would know if I would need to report....

It is a slippery slope, but we're all growd up up in hurr, I'm sure we all know what is ethically the right thing to do.

And yes E$ I know I don't have the game....YET!!!!

Well, most of us here know each other well enough that intentional pulling isn't a thought.  A guy battling for 1st place isn't going to quit.  Seems pretty logical that if you get disco'd under either scenario you shouldn't have to report anything.

It's possible this suggestion could open up a can of worms for future events but I think we're smart enough to figure out if someone starts to abuse the leniancy.

If everytime someone is behind they get discoed and they never get discoed while they are ahead, uh ya, that ain't gonna fly

And ultimately, IMO you should always try to get the match back to the exact same point to continue it if it's just a regular ladder match....for the tournaments like what you guys had happen tonight I guess there's no way to get back to the same point, but like E$ said, we'll sniff it out if something's not on the up and up.

I'd say that whoever gets booted is pulled from the ladder reporting. Obviously, if someone is up two strokes on the last hole and gets booted, the group should be able to vote to make an exception to the rule.

I confirmed all my wins but left Brodys unconfirmed because I didn't feel right about taking it.

Maybe if the round is more than half over when the person disco's they should have to report to anyone that was ahead of them at the time but not the other people? If it's less than half over then report to no one...Just a suggestion.

I confirmed the win over Brody last nigh but didn't realize it 'til now.  I wouldn't have done it if I'd been paying attention.

I dont see why anyone should have to report losses in a match you discoed from. As stated earlier we can generally pick out anyone trying to manipulate wins and losses and then it wont matter cause they will be gone anyway! I think that the rule should be that if you disco then you arent required to report losses in tourney's.

Please confirm all the Brody wins; I cant ammend his record (delete his wrongful losses) until you do so

To keep from causing problems I will just take all the wins for Brody's losses. Purely to keep things square of course.

I think it should go to a vote.  At first, I figured he quit.  But i did think it was wierd he was the same distance as the strokes went up.  I have a wireless network so I know it is possible for me to get kicked out too, it is one of those grey areas.

Yeah it was definately a glitch.  One thing you'll find here is that we care more about ethics than winning or losing   Those who dont feel that way usually dont make a long-term habit of playing here.

I wasn't playing but if you got kicked out by the 3rd hole and I saw he had -7 before he quit out, he can all assume there were glitches or errors.  Nobody wants to win by default (unless it is obvious)

It's a friendly game here! How about disco's don't count but time outs do?

The other thing is.....say I timed-out with a -9, but someone else finishes with a -5, would report to who?

What is a time out...shot clock violation?  And what happens if you get one?

shot clock violation = disqualification from the tourney

So one shot clock violation and you're DQ'd....sheesh...poor Dendo

I would say if we were going to count time outs as reportable matches, then even if you were ahead by 10 strokes, you would have to report it as a loss if you were the one that got DQ"d....

The other option would not be to count them, and since I don't have the game yet, I don't know what the time limit is like...if it's reasonable then I'd say if you DQ, too bad, report your izzle.

i would hope that people around here know that i don't play for wins or stats, as was stated before, i hit shots in every direction and for some reason it kept putting me back to the same spot. i can see if i hit into water(which i did i think twice) but the other shots landed somewhere else(not o.b) and it kept putting me back to the same spot. whatever is decided is cool with me

the good news was i was able to join in on the next tourney immediately, so much for the 20 hr ban
