It (Simultaneous Play) was also a feature of the PC game .... called "Ready Play" .... was one of the things that if you had it turned on caused all kinds of lag issues and frame rate problems..... everyone turned it off .... hopefully it wont affect the consoles the same way.

No chance this is a viable online option. Might not even be possible online, I'm not sure. And I don't think I'm interested in split screen offline. But I'm always a nay-sayer...a wus about 'new' things. I could be wrong.

That's what I was afraid of. Not gonna work my friend. We're talking EA here. Better odds on the 360 though.

It works perfectly on Hot Shots, but, you're right...this is EA Sports.

I'm not worried.  Even if it's not 100% from the get go it can always be worked out.  They did an awesome job with 08.  It wasn't exactly perfect at the start, but other than alternate shot, the game is da shiznit.

I think they're back on the right track. 08 was a vast improvement. But I wish they weren't introducing yet another variable into the online equation. When I 1st heard about my thought was, they should concentrate on fixing what's broken.

And Hank Haney is the biggest non-factor ever. You don't have to max your CAG this year. How much time you think I'm going to be spending with ol' Hank?

Don't take my criticism of Tigger/EA wrong. I'm excited and ready to play 09.

There's a 720p video available in the PSN store (I'm assuming its on XBL too, but not sure) showing the new course rendering technology.

The video shows flybys of the closing 3 holes @ Sawgrass with a side by side view of 08 on the left and 09 on the right.

This is a youtube video of it, but it doesn't do justice compared to looking at the video in HD, IMO:

The flybys for Sawgrass in comparison to 08 don't look any better to me, greens and fairways look like straw.

I agree with Tayty. And until the online play is smooth, I don’t think they should be concentrating on simultaneous / split screen play. After 3 years in a row of sub-par online play, they seem to have gone and made it harder.

Though who knows, maybe this new feature directly addresses the connectivity issues. Perhaps it a fix within a feature. I guess we’ll see…

You guys did read this, right? :

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09 also features a more intuitive and customized EA SPORTS™ GamerNet** experience as well as an all-new game engine powering online play.

We can speculate EA all we want til the cows come home because we have been dissatisified with there product for the past number of years.  I don't/won't/refuse to believe anything THEY say until reviews and hopefully some positive feedback comes back for this years version.

Biggest thing for me is and has always been is the daily tournament.  If they haven't brought back the stableford scoring system like in 04/05 and rely on your "name" to determine who wins the tournament like they did in 08...then I will for sure not be getting it this year. Online portion in 08 I thought was faily solid in a sense, it's just the glitches that always come about and ruin the online gaming experience.

Time will tell.....

If they make the server as stable as HSG's server, I might get it, otherwise, no chance, Tigger is so far behind stability wise form all of the top next-gen games it's ridiculous.

All I was trying to point out is that they DID mention that they have tried to work on the online features. Lucky made a comment about how they should be concentrating on that instead of graphical features and I wanted him to see that they mentioned a new online engine in case he didn't read it.

Thats all I meant by what I posted, I didn't mean that I think this will be the second coming of TW04 or anything like that.  Sheesh.

I know what a turd this game has been just like you guys know.
