I have to agree with spec on this one.Anyway I never had a problem with the looks of TW07 or 08,I just want the online to run smooth and thats it.

Pretty smooth online for the 360 bro, what kind of problems did you have? [:D]

The last time we heard this - we were graced with '05 and all of it's magical capabilities [X(] [:(] [:@]  ...and then again in '06, which we all know was SOOOO much better than '05 [:(][:(][:(]  [sm=1smilie_shootme.gif]

SlickRick -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/7/2008 8:09:20 AM)

As good as 07 was, 08 was even better.  If they improve the online the game will be perfect.  If they don't, it will still be a fantastic game.

GccTxs67 -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/7/2008 9:18:00 AM)

Yeah I dont know....i spray the ball all over the place online, offline I hit straight as an arrow....

PS3 online 2008 Tiger is as smooth as it can be, all modes work great as far connectivity issues goes for me and everyone that I play with. The turbo boost is pretty isolated to a couple of courses. Other than that, 2008 works great. I think most of TGV just didnt give it a chance.

That was me for sure, but after getting it on the 360 i can't put it down.  This game is as fun for me as it has ever been.

Its funny since 04 we asked for a harder game, they gave us one and everyone left it [:(]

yeh but we didnt ask for Boost,spin and certain course hole  glitches with that harder game Jay.I will more then likely rent it but it will have to be almost flawless online for me to buy it and thats right out of the box.And I bought it for the PS3 Andy and the boost glitch happened to me on almost every hole.Not to mention the spin glitch also.Maybe they patched it for the PS3 like they did for the 360,but if I wanted to wait 3 or 4 months for EA to fix a game that was suposed to be complete then I would just wait 3 or 4 months to buy it.

TDAWG23232 -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/7/2008 12:08:28 PM)

I loved that the game was harder, what I didn't love was that playing 08 was the constant spin and boost glitches....I have played quite a few games online, and without a doubt EA and Tigger have not kept up with the competition.  I'm as big a fan of the game as anyone here, but enough is enough when it comes to glitches.  I play HSG online, and have no issues whatsoever, why can't EA provide that?

EA can suck a fat one as far as I'm concerned....sorry Rick, I know you have an uber crush on EA, and possibly own stock in them,[:(][:(] but they are seriously lacking in keeping up with the next gen games, at least with Tigger.  Maybe this year they will figure it out, and if they do I will get the game again, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's not a crush, but I probably should own some of their stock.  The simple reality is the games they put out aren't garbage like some try to portray them to be.  And the few small problems that were in the game to begin with have for the most part been taken care of.

Tiger, NHL, FIFA, NASCAR, you name it - all hits with many, many folks.  That's not an opinion - it's a fact.

It is to a crush [:(][:(]

I never played the 360 version, so I can't speak of it, but the ps3 version of Tigger was full of glitches...every game I played online was impacted by boost or spin glitches...EVERY GAME....That's not opinion, that's fact...I heard all the excuses and even tried to buy into for a while, but the bottom line is that if I pay $60 for a game I shouldn't win a match because I got spin and my opponent didn't, or vice-versa.  I expect more from my game then that....if it worked for you, great, but it sure as heck didn't work for me.

SlickRick -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/7/2008 1:09:14 PM)

That's too bad - definitely sounds like a platform issue.

luckyea -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/7/2008 1:42:30 PM)

I actually think it's a connection issue. I think those with good connections are fine. But the fact that it is a Tiger specific problem, means it's on EA.

You guys are crazy or have short term memory issues. [:(]

You can't use a regular controller for tigger. You need a Intec, same as you always did. And of course you need the right converter. I'm 100% straight online.

AndyTL462 -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/7/2008 1:44:37 PM)

NO, its not a platform issue, its a user issue. Some people have had more spin and boost issues than others, thats true. But I never experience any of these issues myself. Some people with weak internet or over seas have had the boost and spin issue. I blame EA, this was never an issue in earlier versions of the game? Why now?

TOUR mode is the easy fix for ALL boost and spin issues. TOUR mode is the way we all should be playing this game anyway IMO. No boost or spin issues in TOUR mode.

I will go on the record and say that TOUR mode 2008 Tiger for the PS3 is the best golf video game ever, hands down.

TDAWG23232 -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/7/2008 1:50:18 PM)

Actually Andy, I think it is somewhat a platform issue...if I'm not mistaken, the 360 released a patch that fixed the spin and boost issues while the PS3 did squat...maybe it was EA that released the patch and did it only for the 360, but either way, EA is still lacking compared to the competition.

 If thats how you like to play the game then that is a fix.But there are probably more of us that play it with boost or spin,with turbo or just tapping.If I want to play tour mode I will play it on the computer.I have 2 versions of it on the PC anyway and I have been playing TW06 on the PC for the last 3 days.But to say that tour mode is a qiuck fix is easy for the guys that play mostly tour anyway.Wha about the rest of us at TGV that have been useing Boost and Spin for the last 4 and a half years?There is no quick fix for us.I am with TDAWG on this one.[:-]
