I'll even name them off for you. There are actually 5 though. Not necisarily in this order though.

ER1CKSON

Haze (cash)

TDAWG

Threeqrtershot

Jesstolate

And there are many more of us hee that were damn good at the game that I am not mentioning.[&o]

This is the third time I will ask you Tayty as you have not answered the question yet. Have you played Tiger on the 360 and if so what problems did you have?

It is obvious to me that the PS3 people have a much higher degree of dissatisfaction than those of us who play on the 360. All I can say is that I am enjoying the game as much now as I ever did. Part of the reason for this is that EA made the game harder and that is how I like it. I know there are people her who don't like the game as much anymore because you can't hole out all the time and shoot in the 30's on some courses. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, to each his own on the type of golf game you like to play. I guess I'm fortunate that I like the type of game that tiger has become. Yes I am frustrated that I couldn't connect last night but those occasions are the exceptions.

Well, not to squash your theory on holing out and shooting in the 30's, but playing HSG I hole out about once a week if I'm playing all the time, and that's if I'm lucky....from day 1 in Tigger I was holing out a heck of a lot more often then that.  The simple fact for me is that I can connect and play glitch free on HSG, something I haven't been able to do on Tigger EVER....every year there is some sort of glitch in the game, whether it be boost or spin, or a made putt that results in an OB or a water hazard.  It's pretty simple really, like E$ stated, EA has the monopoly on the titles so they don't give a crap about us.  When EA pulls their head out of their ass I'll be the first in line to get my copy of Tigger no matter how hard the game is.

I wasn't necessarily referring to you TD.

I'm not saying you were, but that seems to be the general consensus as to why a lot of players don't play, and I'm telling you it's not....there may be a few that feel that way, but the bigger issue is all the glitches....why should anyone pay $60 for a game that they have to find work arounds for when there are other companies releasing games that are perfectly put together from the start?

I've said the same thing for the last few years, I could care less about all the bells and whistles that EA has added to the game, or the even the gameplay in general....if it doesn't work online glitch free I'm not spending my money on it when there are other options available to me.

That seems to be a difference between the consoles because on the 360 the game is great online. It's too bad EA didn't do the same for the PS3 version. [:D]

Optimus Prime -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/9/2008 7:51:38 AM)

I can only speak for myself by I have yet to recieve a glitch of any kind in the 08 game on my console...........now if only the console would work [:(]

luckyea -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/9/2008 8:59:57 AM)

The PS3 is fine online also. Boost glitches were connection related. Folks with crappy highspeed connections are screwed. Everyone else is fine. The real reason for the lack of play, is that people got bored with Tiger (and a few have weak connections).

DanDaBreadMan -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/9/2008 4:23:22 PM)

Tiger is fine. Let's face it, what was there to play online in 04? Nothing else I think. I played Tiger 99% of the time. Now I have a crap load of fun games to play online. TW 09 will come out, people will play the hell out of it, and then a new game will come out and Tiger will go back to being just another game.

I've got a 10 meg connection and have had zero problems with any other game.  The connection theory is bunk IMO.

I have to agree with E on this I had Comcast at the time and when I had service I have never had problems with any game and I still had glitches online. [:)]

WTF?!?!

"By the way, EA continues to make the purchase of new gear possible with event and career earnings you accrue in the game. But another—and likely more controversial—method is going to be offered, which will enable you to purchase gear using “real-world funds” via Microsoft Points. The build that EA provided for this preview didn’t include actual costs for gear or how the Pro Shop prices might convert to what you’ll need to spend in MS Points, but it’ll be interesting to see if players are willing to pay actual dollars for quicker access to stats-building wares…albeit “virtual” wares.."

SlickRick -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/9/2008 8:21:01 PM)

It sounds like it's basically the same as buying a full downloadable cag.

LOL, I think Hoo brought about a topic like this awhile back about spending money to buy a maxed out cag.  I personally hate maxing out/opening courses/characters yada, yada, yada. I just wanna hop online and get to it.

I'd pay the 5 or 10 bucks to have all courses unlocked/characters unlocked/modifiers....etc.

Heck I had Irish over here last summer with his daughter and gave them Ice Cream so that Irish could copy his maxed out file to mine...I think that was even cheaper.[:o][:(]

SlickRick -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/9/2008 9:45:43 PM)

Don't get me wrong - I have no problem with it whatsoever.  I downloaded both for 07 and 08, and I plan to for 09.  After all, I don't max a guy so that I'm super awesome offline.  I only to do it to get online and play with my homies. [8D]

And yes - Irish got the better end of that deal. [:(]

luckyea -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/10/2008 12:19:10 AM)

You no longer have to max your CAG, btw.
I'll concede that the game had issues when it first came out on the PS3. Of cource even 04 had issues at times. Obviously you don't all live in the middle of BFE. But the point is, that you guys got bored of the game. Not that there were glitches the first few weeks. If you weren't sick of Tiger you'd all have been playing it all year. Had the game been basically glitch free, you still wouldn't have played much more than you did. The game has run it's course for some. Especially those into shooter games. There's just a ton of high quality, highly played online games. Tigger seems almost too...yesterday from that perspective. Ahh, whatever...you can tell I'm bored.[&o]

I do think it's funny that you can by the trophies or whatever that people have 'earned'. [:(]

SwAeromotion -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/10/2008 6:18:27 AM)

The point with last year is that it was having the option of buying a max CAG or doing it on your own.  This (09) way you may not be able to earn the best equipment, clothing, or what-have-you... rather in order to have them you would have to purchase it.  That seems lame.

FM6CT -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/10/2008 7:03:03 AM)

From looking at the recent videos over at gametrailers there seems to still be a Tiger Challenge of some sort.... at least that is the title shown on some of the video's .... buying a maxed cag is what I have done since it has been available ... but 2.50 isn't a big cost for that option..... now buying equipment is another matter all together....especially if thats the only way to max out..... gee dont EA and MS make enough money all ready ??? [:D] [:D]

Further evidence from the Team Xbox article: "I spent a good amount of my hands-on time moving through early parts of the Tiger Challenge. Instead of a grid of events the previous game had, this time it takes you up against one pro player at a time. You need to compete in that pro’s events (on what’s called a “card”) in order to earn enough points to then face off against that pro, as well as enabling access to the next (and more difficult) card. Winning unlocks the golfer into your arsenal, among other benefits."
"the skills section has been streamlined down to tracking just four main attributes: Power, Accuracy, Short Game and Putting. This means there’s less to keep track of, but it looks like it’ll be a bit more work to get your golfer character into a dominating position,"

luckyea -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/10/2008 9:13:20 AM)

I read somewhere that you don't have to max your CAG this year (or buy it). But I can't find any supporting documentation, so never mind. Though I did come across this gem:

On the default difficulty level, the right stick's swing feels as good as ever

It would appear that the right stick will once agin be the default swing stick. if so, thank F'ing god. I can't even play most of my friends because they play left handed or cross handed (at their house).

Didn't you have the option to change it to either stick?

luckyea -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/10/2008 1:15:22 PM)

Yes, but I assumed that we couldn't do both at the same time. I don't think he could play left handed while I sat right next to him and played right handed. On the same PS3, not online...

SlickRick -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/10/2008 1:16:43 PM)

OK - I thought you meant online.

MarkoC -> RE: Tiger 09, First Info and Media (7/10/2008 2:12:06 PM)

Tiger 07 for the PS3 did not allow you to swing with the right stick online. They did fix that for 08.
