I'm likely a little way behind you guys as i was on vacation until the 2nd of May so only started playing on Saturday. I'm pretty anal about finishing everything in one area before moving to another, so far I have done all the story missions and side missions up to the Manny ones in the first area including all the pigeons, aside from 6, all the races, all the drug runs, all the car jacks, all the random character mission lines etc etc etc.

But... still no sniper rifle to kill the last 6 pigeons in the first area.  I have the strat guide so know where the 2 sniper rifles spawn in this area but it says they are mission based weapons so wont spawn unless you are on the mission that needs them.

So my first question is does anyone know when and where the sniper rifle first becomes available?

Secondly, has anyone found a chopper that can be stolen yet? Im kind of gutted that there will be no planes you can fly in this release, especially after it was a huge part of San Andreas. But im itching to get in a heli which the strat guide tells me you can steal, but it doesnt go in to detail about where they pawn, if you have found one please let me know.

p.s. I don't like using the cheats at all so dont want to force stuff to spawn [&o]

I think he's saying that in Elizabeta's mission, "luck of the Irish" is where you see the sniper rifle show up first. If your at manny's missions your close.

As for the chopper......while I'm flying around sometimes(on a mission) I see one parked on some sort of law enforcement facility, not sure if it is for the taking or what. I pretty much take cabs everywhere so haven't really found the need for a personal chopper.......yet[&o]

Thanks, aside from the fun factor the only reason why i want one now is because one of the pigeons is easier to get with a chopper than the sniper rifle, also because I thought getting a sniper rifle was a way off.

The one on top of the police station is there for the taking apparently, well so the strat guide says, but its finding the police station that has it and then hoping its there. So far ive found one police station with a helipad on top but so far no heli spawn.

Not sure I know which specific Dimitri mission you're referring to Jay.

Andrew, try the airport if you want to steal a copter.  Not sure it shows up on your map as an airport but if you bring your map up in game, it's the far east portion of the map.  You should notice 2 runways in the shape of a > when looking at the map. I think there is a helicopter there.  There are also heli's on top of some buildings but I haven't tried to steal one yet so I don't know the specific buildings they are in.

You can also try the helitour at the SE corner of Algonquin Island.  Not sure if you can steal one there or not but they do helicopter tours.

Has anyone got the Helitour to work?  I've tried to take a couple of dates there and there is never a helipoter and I cant seem to enter the building.

Where does he stand?  Everytime I go there I see no Heli and no people.

Then it is not available .... I have taken a tour ....  and stolen the Helicopter (keep forgetting to "Hold" the Y button to just get in) .... try going there in daylight hours .... [&o]

Last time I went there there were 3 helicopters waiting to go on tours. [&o]

If you still need help Jay see below:

Do the fight Jay, staying crouched helps a great deal, then when the cops show up, dont panic, go around the warehouse collecting the drops and then when youre ready run outside, turn left and your getaway car is parked and waiting. You shouldnt have an issue getting away, i didnt, just remember to wait for Jacob

btw, I got the sniper rifle so im all good there, also got access to the next island and indeed found a heli to steal at the heli tours place... thx [8D]
