The league will consist of 2 distinct sessions; the regular season and the playoffs.

The regular season will be round robin format - everyone will play everyone else 1 time.  You will play 1 opponent per week.  *Note, this may change depending on how many participants we have.

The playoffs will be double elimination brackets and seeding will be based on your performance during the regular season.  You will not be restricted to any specific golfer during the playoffs.

Each round in both the regular season and playoffs will consist of (1) 18 hole round of 1v1 stroke play (not "real tournament").

Special Rules Include:

1) You will be required to use each golfer at least 1 time during the season.  You will have the choice of who to use during each week - your own personal strategy will determine who you use and when.

2) You will be required to use both swing styles during the season.  The minimum amount of rounds you will be required to use for a style is 1 - your own personal strategy will determine which one you use and when.  Essentially, you need to deviate from your normal shot method 1 time during this season.

3) Each week might include special rules such as +2 Sand, etc.  The entire league schedule will be posted on/before May 4 so that you can have an opportunity to review it and plan your strategy accordingly.

Your questions and/or comments are welcomed; thank you all for your continued support here at TGV.  Good luck and have fun!

Prizes for Regular Season:
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & *Last Place : Your choice of 1 Free item from the TGV Store.
*You must have ZERO forfeits to qualify for the last place prize.

Prizes for Playoffs:
1st: $50 @ Gamestop, Best Buy or TGV Store
2nd: $30 @ Gamestop, Best Buy or TGV Store
3rd: $20 @ Gamestop, Best Buy or TGV Store

Is it stroke play?  Do points break ties?  Is there a golfer restriction?  Are these rules listed somewhere else that I just forgot about?

If we're doing the vs as in stroke play (each player takes turns while the other watches), that system does not use points and only counts strokes....if we do the real tournament (where both players play at the same time) then it does include points.  So which is it???  Or is it match play?

actually it is better to not use match play.  MATCH PLAY DOESN'T RECORD YOUR HOLE IN ONES

Meh...I could care less if I stats are recorded for 1 game a week, I just want everyone to be clear on the rules before we get going, and make sure everybody is playing by the same rules.

I am not exactly sure of the rules either.  We are playing an 18 hole stroke match but we will be making sure it is treated like a vs match?

Maybe we are doing it this way to prevent the 3 down give up rule.  You can easily be down 3 and come back.  Okay maybe not easily but you can do it.

Thanks for clarifying all of this TDAWG. I am not sure what to do either so I appreciate all the heads up I can get. I played my first stroke game with SW this morning so all of this is new territory for me.

No kiddin?   Thats a suprise... and unfortunate

We'll have to say that points do not break ties because I do not think that the "3 hole mercy" rule in match play will lend itself very well to this league... we need to do stroke.  The tie breaker will be lowest cumulative strokes throughout the 17 week season.

We have room for 1 more if Spec or Irish want in... atm we have every player getting 1 bye - if we add 1 player, he can play against the bye-week players.

I like the stroke play decision, Momo. I played my first game like that with SW the other day & it was cool. I like playing tourneys when I can see the other players shots. It is a little more relaxed with some time between shots. I never even noticed if it was strokes or points though to be perfectly honest since it was all so new to me. Sounds like lots of fun, ty.
