DEFINITELY a change of pace from the shooters and sports games I have been playing for God knows how long.  I played it for about 4 hours tonight and it's very well put together, I had very low expectations because of the unknown publisher and the delay.  Any fears I had were erased because this game has A LOT to get into and it tracks a lot of information while you are out at sea.  You have to complete 4 tutorial missions before the career mode is opened up for play but those missions will take 45 minutes max to complete and by the time you finish them you have the easiest 60 gamerpoints you ever received.  I am winding down the initial King Crab season at my last save.  my biggest pot was 125 (and it looks like anything over 90 get's you the full pot achievement Jeff because I triggered it with a 97).  Tomorrow I definitely want to explore the online play, the back of the box says 1-8 players.

If you are a hardcore gamer and don't watch the show then this game is iffy as far as whether or not you'll like it.  If you love the show then I really think you'll enjoy this game.

Shut up and fish!

Only played for about 2 hours.... thought it was great. If you love the show... you will love the game.

Didn't get around to getting online yet.  I keep popping this thing in and 3 hours fly by.  I'm in my 2nd King Crab season and what I learned from the 1st is to keep an eye on the overall quota on the plotter screen because that 24 hour notice until season's end can come pretty fast if you're not paying attention.  It actually really sucks if you just set the last of 150 pots and you hear her voice come on telling you that you have 24 hours to finish up.

The display is a little small and hard to make out some of the numbers.  I was picking up my last pot when the "End of Season" message popped up on the screen.  I dragged the pot onboard and emptied it.  When I get to one of the ports to sell the catch I get a message on my screen that the coast guard caught me fishing illegally and I was Fined.  I couldn't make out the amount on the display, but now I know when she says end of season, she means it

You're damned if you do, damned if you don't at that point Joe because if the season ends with pots in the water then you have to pay to have them retrieved and emptied.

I got fined at the end of my first king season.

How did your first Opelio season go?

I asked that question a couple of days ago. Where have you been?

BTW...I watched a special about the making of this game on the 360. Very cool stuff. I've purchased a lot of games this summer to keep me busy. Hard to justify another purchase right now.

Happy fishing everyone.
