The Final

After a long hard fought season the final would see Zaragoza vs New England. Each team won their respective divisions during the season and the anticipation of these two meeting in the final was finally over, it was here.

The opening whistle would sound and the final was under way. Both teams would start off with a little possesion, trying to feel out the others defense. New England would get a great chance in the 25' minute but Twellman would be denied by the GK's best friend, EL POST. The first half would end in a 0-0 draw and both teams would need to make some adjustments and find more scoring chances.

The second half would also start with both teams still trying to get a feel and a handle on the game. It was obvious that this much anticipated final had rattled the nerves. New England would find themselves on a breakaway with Twellman carrying the ball from midfield into the box. With the goalie charging out and a couple defenders on his tail Twellman would lay the ball off to Cristman at the spot and with an open goal he would put NE up 1-0 in the 55' minute. The New England defense would hold strong as Zaragoza would put together some really good passing and create problems for the NE defense but when it seemed that Zaragoza would get a great opp. the NE defense would step up and end the threat. With the Final winding down and the whistle just minutes away a Zaragoza defender would make a critical mistake and Cristman would be there to pounce on the chance and in the 90' minute put New England up 2-0 and the Championship was seconds away. Final score 2-0.

Great game Gunner and great season.
