I tried to use this method but on my TV it goes really fast.  I have a 50" widescreen Sony TV.  Does anyone has this issue too?

mdterpfan -> RE: Traditional Method (6/1/2008 4:23:00 PM)

yes I have a 50 inch panasonic and I have the same issue with the speed of it...it's no where near like the previous HSG titles

ER1CKSON -> RE: Traditional Method (6/1/2008 4:28:18 PM)

Size of the TV has nothing to do with it.  I have a 32 inch and it goes fast as hell.

Roughdawg4 -> RE: Traditional Method (6/1/2008 4:30:04 PM)

yeah but it goes insanely fast.

ER1CKSON -> RE: Traditional Method (6/1/2008 4:34:06 PM)

I know.  It's the same for everyone though.

Roughdawg4 -> RE: Traditional Method (6/1/2008 5:01:13 PM)

no i mean faster on a widescreen.

ER1CKSON -> RE: Traditional Method (6/1/2008 5:08:09 PM)

Widescreen, regular, hd, sd, 27, 60, it shouldn't matter.  Unless they specifically programmed it differently for every TV type(I highly, highly doubt), it should take the same amount of time to get from point A to point B on all of them.

Roughdawg4 -> RE: Traditional Method (6/2/2008 5:12:59 AM)

I know, but I am wondering if the timing is off.  Because I had the same problem with Guitar Hero III. The timing is off a little bit.  I noticed on the boards it all stemmed from widescreen tv's.

SwAeromotion -> RE: Traditional Method (6/2/2008 5:31:45 AM)

Two thoughts:

1) Going off of E$'s statement that it takes the same amount of time to go from start to one end back to the beginning.  That is true.  However, with a larger TV the bar itself is longer so it would appear that the arrow is moving faster because it is covering more ground.  The timing is still the same regardless... it just appears faster.

2) There are different response times with widescreen TVs/monitors.  I also notice a very very small delay in Guitar Hero when I went from an old tube TV to my widescreen monitor.  I am not sure how that would affect the speed of the bar, but it could affect your Perfect Impact % over time if you had a noticeable response time delay.

This is the reason.  Play on a smaller TV and it will go "slower" [&o]

yeah I noticed the same thing when I played Guitar Hero III over at a friend's house and it was much easier.  Most games it wouldn't even matter, but for games like Guitar Hero and Hot Shots Golf timing is everything.

dendo x -> RE: Traditional Method (6/2/2008 8:13:41 AM)

...use your PIP to shrink it down to size [&o]

(brings mine down to either 41" or 18" diagonal frame)

Hey RD, I'll trade you TV's, then you could play on my SD 27 incher...you will need to hook up a tv tuner card to it so you can also see the picture on your pc, because it's so fuzzy you won't be able to read any of the numbers or any of the info on the HUD, also make sure your sound is up so you can hear when to putt the ball because you can't see the little dot on some courses. [&o][:(][:(]

Everything I put in there about my tv is 100% true, so the sympathy train for you HAVING to play ONE round of traditional on your 50 inch widescreen won't be stopping at my station.[&o][:(][:(]

and for not giving me sympathy, I will make sure you don't get the free win either. [:(][:(]

I agree with this completely.

I played HSG4 on the PS3 with my new hdtv for nearly 9months before HSG5 came out and let me tell you it was like starting all over again, I never got used to it.
