IMO, this is the game to have.  If you don't like this year's version, you'll never like a version.  I think it's fantastic!

.......

Yes to turbo glitches, and the EXACT same holes plus a few to boot.
LAG offline just like the previous version.

I feel like a lot of you.  I waaaannt to like this game.  I was hopin'.
They've barely touched the game in the off-season for years now.

The other thing about this game I don't like is it seriously over-works your PS3.
The DVD drive is loading content constantly from it.

They seriously need to consider letting us DL the game to our HD.
It would save the drive, and maybe even eliminate that f'n lag...

I give it an 8. There is always room for improvement. Like a working daily perhaps. Everything else seems fine. I don't care for the long drive distance, so I keep my sweet spot at a respectable size. It hasn't seemed to cost me in the 20 or so online games I've played so far, and if it does, so what.

i gave it a 9.

I have never really been a big daily player so that doesn't bother me too much.  I am not a fan of the long drives but i just bumped my 3 wood up a little so its more like a normal driver, i only use driver is someone else is smashing it down the fairway.  I think the game is great and have played a bunch of matches with the guys here on from the lobbies with no problems at all.  Plus Whoop I love playing Bay Hill.

I'm with ya Dan.  The beauty of this years game is total customization.  For instance I don't want to blast the ball and drive all the fairways I tune my clubs down.  Other than the one night (had to be OP related) I have played many games online and it is flawless.  I have yet to see a problem.  I like the online so much I haven't even tried to build my golfer

I think EA hit a smash with this one

Should hear it in the 360, sounds like a 747 taking off sometimes....that is a bit annoying

I may have to rent it when it's available and check it out....  I'm normally on the same page as E$ when it comes to specific things that will affect whether I'll like the game or not.... But it's another whole year minus Tiger if I don't like it, so I'd better at least give it a chance...

I have to up this raing a lot.  Originally rated it low because I thought it was the same ol same ol.  Played a ton of match with Rick, Glenn and Dan last night.  9 holers, 18 holers, default, tour etc.  Showed me this is why I buy games, to play games with TGV guys.  This one is a 9.......at least

For me:

Definet boost glitches, though as long as it doesnt stop you from reaching a green or unable you to drop low enough to hold a green that you would otherwise over run , it doesnt really matter.

It is much harder with the stock controller(I cant tap past first pink or hit it straight 100%)

The wind is not 1mph=1 yd anymore, I think it varys from club to club(loft??) and much more greatly effects you left to right more and more as wind speed increases.

The green speeds dont seem to be consitent from course to course.
IE: I have the speeds pegged at:(with no shape,which can add 25% either direction)
Very fast=50% (10yd putter will go 15yds)
Fast = 25% (10yd putter will go 12.5 yds)
Average = 10% (10yd putter will go 11yds)
(havent played slow)
Problem: I can be on a certain course, on very fast greens and it absolutely is +50%, 40yd putter will go 60yds
yet go to another course, and very fast greens will only play at like 25% or even 10%. 40yd putter will only go 50/44yds respectively.
If I or anyone can come up with a definitive formula, any input would be appreciated.

For offline multiplayer, once you change swing sticks, it changes them for every stock player(Now instead of builidng another CAG for when I play multiplayer offline, we  can both just use Tiger).

Bottom line... Have fun!!

I gave it an 8. I play Tour Pro mode exclusively and I was disappointed to learn what was possible with a maxed out player and a less than 5% sweetspot club... the game gets turned into an arcade cheesfest.  I built a character to an average of 8, and quit trying to build attributes there.  I now hover around 8.  I've got my sweetspots set between 21 and 23% for all clubs to make it more difficult to hit fairways and greens.  I like the way the game plays at the settings I currently have.  FIR's are 60%, GIR's at 58%, with an average drive of 304 yards.  That sounds pretty realistic to me.  Oh, my scoring average is in the high 60's with this setup.

Naturally, I get pretty well owned when I take my player online, but when I win one, it is extra sweet.  My opponents know that they have been outplayed by a much weaker player!

I still hate the multirange putting system and a swing interface that allows you to get the stick well ahead of the golfer animation without any real penalty, but it's got more character than last year's game.  I wish they'd give us some more camera configuration options, I think I could make something useful out of Presentation Cam if they would allow me to choose cameras, and how long the golfer's swing camera view is held before switching to another view.

I am fixing to pick this up but I am torn as to which console to get it for.I know that almost all of the PS3 players use Turbo like me but there allways seems to be more online problems with the PS3 version and EA doesnt seem to release patches for it on the PS3.The 360 guys mostly use the stock controler and very few use Turbo like me.In the past it has caused problems with me and a few guys and I just dont want that to happenanymore but I like to play games on the 360 for the acheivmens also.I also know that there are useualy patches released for TW on the 360 to fix problems.I play more games with the 360 guys for sure but I just dont want to make more enemies since I use the Turbo.Damn what a delima.
