Ok I know this will come to a shock to many of you.  But I have officially retired from WoW.  I decided enough was enough.  I sold my gaming PC that I built last summer I cancelled my subscription and am seriosuly contemplating selling my WoW account.  I have a decently geared level 80 mage that can compete in my guild in top 5 dps consistantly.   What are your thoughts?  I have spent and wasted too damn much money over the last several years playing that game and don't want to miss out on anymore real life becuase of it.  Selling my account is actually against the ToS but i could get roughly 200 bucks for it.  Someone add a poll for me please since i don't have the permissions to do it.

Sell it

Dont Sell it

I had this problem with Diablo years back... It controlled my life.  I eventually went cold turkey like you did and gave it up.

It's up to you if you want to sell the account... Not sure what the consquences would be if they took action against you.  People used to sell weapons and items from the Diablo game on Ebay all the time... It went on for years and I'm sure nothing ever happened to those people.

Go for it!  Make some money!

I just stopped playing about a month ago OP and I can't bring myself to sell the account. The game has gotten so simple that people should be forced to do it themselves. It's nothing like it once was, also its a very dangerous business selling accounts. Very easy to get ripped off by a site or in trouble from Blizzard. My Vote is don't sell it, the game might become interesting again and be something you can manage later on, all that time also isn't worth too much money anymore with the simple state of the game.

lol its not that i don't enjoy WoW.  I did. and I know I still would.  But i quit playing the guitar, sold all my guitars, sat around and played WoW and ignored my duties around the house more or less.........ignored my lady and her kids, which is part of the reason things got messed up and we aren't together anymore   not all but part.   I didn't hardly ride my bike or play golf.  I was starting to quit life.....so thats why i sold the pc. With it there the temptation to play is there. lol.  I need to fix me, find myself again.  Start getting joy back into the things that I used to do.  I dunno its complicated

Sell it or delete it.  I quit cold turkey, like Whoop, just a different game.  These games are like crack...glad you are trying to put the pipe down.  Best of luck.

Sell it. I'm with ER1CKSON on how addictive these games can become. Tiger was like that with me, especially 06 & 07 on ps2 letting it control your life & becoming your life. In the end it's are own choice of letting things control us but we need to make decisions that are in are best interest in life. I enjoy the games as much as any but i'm glad i got away from them being a daily part of my life. GL Prime.

I don't know enough about the sell it or not sell it part but what Burtonboy wrote made a lot of sense to me & sounds like good advice. I like reading all you are thinking about with your life, OP, & wish you good luck & all the best.
